If it’s so urgent, then the stakeholders should just drop by the school this afternoon and seek a clarification regarding the numbers.

If they don’t bother to do that, then I can safely infer that it’s not urgent enough.

        Hi qms,

Sorry, since u said above that "I failed to see logic", based on what u have analysed so far, is above claim false then ?

          Hi Phtthp,

          Don't panic too much 🙂

For these three schools, I think it's still 'easier' to switch from IP to OLP than the other way round?

As far as I am concerned,

            1. The quoted number of 440 IP + 210 JAE students is unverified.
            2. Hence, you cannot conclude that more than 100 students were retained at JC1.
            3. Since EJC was at Mt Sinai, with the limited space, the school wouldn't be able to take in usual number of JC1 students in 2018. Did you hear anything about the school's reduced intake in 2018? It wouldn't escape you if the school had taken in less students in 2018, given your resourcefulness in obtaining information. What's more, by more than 100 places! Hence, what jtoh said makes sense to me.

No JC will retain 100+ students. Simple logistics will not allow it. Unless they take in 100 less students from the incoming batch. (And why would they do that?)
I look at this issue from the information given so far. That's why I said logical. I did not say the claim was false.

I am neutral with regards to jtoh earlier statement. I am just wondering how is it possible for a JC to retain 2X% of it’s JC1 cohort?

As for erika123, those in the forum long enough would probably guess who she is. Anyway, I doubt she can provide concrete proof on her claim that “129 students were retained”. Worse comes to worst, erika123 could just abandon her white/yellow belt username and come in to EJC thread using another newly created username.

Thank you very much, qms, for helping me analyse, as my mind is cluttered now

I apologized to you, jtoh, for above

because none of the above comments made by u, is going to help any of us here, 2019 P6 parents making dsa decision now over weekend

Now what we need is the Truth. Nothing but the truth, to above claim. That's all. Hopefully, what that person claimed, is false

                  Period
Au contraire, what I have written is of help to those logical enough to sieve through all the scaremongering and half-truths. If the matter is of such urgency, the school is but a phone call away, as I have mentioned above, which I am sure some people are capable of. Might I quote Mulder in all his droll wisdom: \"The Truth Is Out There.\"

Firstly, I don’t understand this logic of “stepping aside”. That’s akin to telling someone not to post in 2020 / 2021 / 2022 P1 registration thread or 2020 / 2021 PSLE thread because one do not understand the mental state of mind that the parents are going thru right now. Frankly, if one needs to calm the mind, the best recommendation would be to switch off the WiFi / mobile data.

Secondly, jtoh merely pointed out the obvious (which I would have thought is the obvious). NO school retains more than 10% of its cohort - that would be plain silly - logistically and administratively.

Thirdly (which should also be obvious), promotional criteria are clearly spelled out before the exams (on day 1 in fact). And J1 promo criteria is not that hard to achieve. Most of the time, you will have to make an effort to fail. If the students are not passing, it would have nothing to do with the principal - they are just very bad students

I had wanted to comment earlier until I saw the posts from xx, and so stopped myself as I did not want to invite another personal attack. So it seems it has happened again?

                        Jtoh,

Just to let u know, in case u are Not aware

In response to your above statement that \"the school is but a phone call away, as I have mentioned above, which I am sure some people are capable of ....the truth is out there \" -

Yes, we, 2019 P6 parents, are capable of making a phone call. No issue, just lift up the telephone and dial

However, Not all info can be disclosed to 2019 P6 parents readily, by the Principal of EJC.
                        P can reply P6 parents, \"Your children only 2019 P6 now, still a long way to go ... \"
