I installed cctv (Xiaomi Home) in the living room and dad's bedroom. Yes, I can view the happenings using my hp.

My helper is aware of the cctv and said ok with it. Before employing her, we already told her we would have cctv at home to benefit both dad and her.

which shop you bought ? sim lim ?

Can buy fr Challenger can connect to hp. You need broadband at home. Prices varies depending on functionality u’re looking for. If u need to record & store, then need to purchase hardisk for higher capacity of 1/2 weeks’ recording.

i wonder how they picked up cantonese language since language is something we have to speak and practice often.

hubby and I spoke to each other in cantonese when we do not want kids nor the maid to know what we were saying.
after a while kids AND the maid started to understand simple and frequently used words :faint:
in order for them NOT to pick up more, we didn't speak in front of them as much as possible.

Hi, newbie here. I have a question about \"consent to transfer\" form. Does anyone know what the actual MOM online transfer form looks like? Current employer wants me to provide the new employer's NRIC and address, but the PDF I found (http://files.netmaid.com.sg/90/Download/consent%20transfer.pdf) does not say \"new employer's NRIC and address\" must be provided. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Use yr SingPass and go to MOM online under Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW). There is a form in the drop down list. Download & print that form & get hardcopy signed. The new eyer shld go to this online page & process as requested to send to MOM.

I’ve had 3 maids so far…1 Filipino …1 Indon and current one myanmmar…

The Filipino maid was my first ever maid so we were new at being ‘employers’…in general she was ok but also probably cos she had loads of freedom cos we are not home the whole day…my son was in infant care…so she helped us picked him ( i booked grab for her to shuttle him home) cos worried for my son’s safety…so her main task was cooking and housework which she did quite ok -not great always had to keep repeating things and she was always trying to beat the system…basically do just enough not to get 'scolded…
She worked 9 mths and during ‘Christmas’ came up with one elaborate drama series story to go home…said her mum had stroke etc…( i saw on fb she was going to restaurants to celebrate Christmas)…then msg me again in Jan after her 1 mth holiday to say she’s ready to return to work with me if im ok ( i was like ??? her skin so thick???)
I went maidless for awhile but really couldnt cope as I do not have parents/ in laws help…and sometimes my husband works long hours
2nd helper Indonesian…this one was the most problematic…always gave the poor thing face wanna cry kind of face…broke things and dare not tell us till we found out ourselves…also stole $$…tried many times to borrow $$ as well…and she always had this scary vibe u dont know what she’s gonna do to you…this one also worked 9 mths…then finally kicked up a ruckus and said cos i kept nagging at her i should send her back…( she packed her bags on the same day)…
The current one from Myanmmar still ok in terms of character etc…but really very stubborn always always have to keep reminding her about things and cannot meet expectations of:
-Coming back on time on her off days
-Getting up on time / not making so much noise when she gets up ( with her loud alarm clock etc)
-can sleep like a log/ in the afternoon even with the condo intercom she can sleep through even though me and my husband are calling her everyone 2-3 mins…( so far already 3 times these incidences)
-Will always yak loudly on her hp when i pass it to her…not discretion abt considerate use to other members of the household despite repeatedly telling her…
-Feels like she behaves like a tenant instead
-but everytime u tell her off she will apologise and say sorry etc…attitude wise she’s ok but isn’t there a limit to how many times u can apologise rte? ( makes it feel like its not sincere)…
-I think its ‘familiarity’ breeds contempt…she also doesnt know how to practise discretion and act like she has a huge say on household matters…like we went shopping once she actually told my husband the shirt he picked out for my boy is not nice…or when i discuss about sending my son for music class she will say to send him for drum class…argh…i guess thats the down side of having a helper they are there 24/7 in your face …
                    - Im in a dilemma whether to change??
                    Sighss

I’ve been there many times. They’ll plead, they’ll hv plenty of sob, sob stories & behaviour. Once they managed to cross that hurdle, they hv u hooked & know u’re completely dependent. Face will change again, very fast. To their whims & fancies. Just so u’re all aware. DH said they exchange 10-year-series handbook on how to get their way.
