Hi parents,
Understand that students in Sec 3 will require to take 1 SIA project; but are they still require to take 1 SIA in Sec 4 since it is the final year preparing for major exams to promote to HCJC? -

Yes. Is your DD sec 2 this year at NYGH? Think the school has update the students to start signing up for some SIA projects few months ago, which require participants to form group, submit proposal during Oct/Nov. Some projects require good academic results, teachers' approval, and the final approval on students' proposal- eg. MOE-GEP programs such as Moot Parliament Programme (MPP), Humanities & Social Sciences Research Programme (HSSRP), Science-Math Mentorship Programme, Creative Arts Programme (CAP). My dd signed up for MPP, recently was selected for HSSRP (invites only), hence she was in a dilemma of choosing which SIA to go next year.
Do we know what are the SIA project options?
.
Besides the MOE-GEP mentorship programs, other SIA include BSP/CLEP. Students can opt for Tier 1, different from MOE scholarship which once accepted by MOE, is a 4-year commitment all tge way to JC2. Students can also sign up for competition-related such as Odyssey of the Mind, WSC debate, etc which if entered final will compete with others internationally, which require travel overseas.
There are also alot of other SIA projects (Can't remember) which no need require early sign-up whereby the school will send to all students next year bah... -

Btw, I thought Humanities & Social Sciences Research Programme (HSSRP) was offered to some of them in y2 ? Just curious if those students take this in y2, can they take it again in y3?
Odyssey of the Mind (OM) was also offered in y2 but not compulsory. Not sure about the rest though.
