Compare RGS vs NYGH
-
Yeah I agree. While I liked RGS, my girls like NYGH so best to listen to the kids. Both schools are very good so it’s a matter of school fit for the girls.

SIt your daughters down and ask whet they like/dislike. Both are good schools, do just go with their preferences unless you think they are silly reasons.
Which domain did your DD DSA in? These two schools are so different, I would have thought most will either like one or the other. My DD has got a couple of choices too, but nothing can persuade her not to choose RGS.KiasuMother3243\" post_id=\"1935859\" time=\"1568802578\" user_id=\"181142:
DD got CO for NYGH and RGS. MGS waitlisted her. Which school should she choose?

If there is a preference, the choice is clear. It is when there is no strong preference that makes the choice really difficult (because both schools are different yet both are good schools).
My dd and I had a tough time choosing between the schools too. We listed down and weighed the likes (and dislikes) of each school, including culture, values, promotion criteria, educational philosophy, CCAs, subjects combi, JC, distance, parental/peer support, etc. In short, we liked MGS for its IB program, NYGH for its chinese/bilingual emphasis, and RGS for its culture of excellence and pupil development. We finally decided on the school that we believe can bring the best out of her.
Not an easy decision, but we are glad we made the right decision for her and with her. -
Wow you are luckiest… all 3 top girls school. Spoilt for choice.

We have CO for RGS & NYGH. Will take NYGH because whilst both schools are brilliant academically we like the culture in NYGH more. It’s a personal thing but many friends fedback that two secondary schools does mould the child quite differently, not considering academic excellence. Different outlooks.

My child has a CO from NYGH and WL from RGS. Parents’ preference is RGS (ease of logistics among other reasons), but child prefers NYGH, but when we discussed with her why is that so, she cannot give any specific reason, more like based on gut feel only. Maybe only the SAP school environment is the familiar part which is a pull reason for her. Should we just cave in to her ‘gut feel’, and not try to convince her otherwise anymore?

If logistics for NYGH is not impossible, and that is the main sticking point, then I would let the child have the final say. But do tell her that she will have to be prepared for more inconveniece, and parents should not feel obliged to make everything too easy over then next 6 yrs.

Being through this last year. \"Gut feeling\" is too risky. Should let your gal have more comprehensive info to support her thoughts.
