We are trying to get her to rectify the sloppy chores as much as we can though it can be quite impossible to check on her duties all the time. It’s really now or never, so I rather put up with her expected black face but still get her to do it properly. I even demonstrated myself fo show her how to do it. I can’t imagine closing one eye now, by 6mths later, it will be horrible.

Just need to spot check, do not need to keep all your attention to her. Normally, the maid will know how to do. Demonstration is just making it easier for her to manipulate you. Even if you do demonstration it should be a small part or area. As much as possible just give verbal instructions.

Certain things can be tricky to spot check e.g changing and washing of water pitcher for the kids, daily cleaning of couch etc since these are performed in the morning when everyone is still in bed. But definitely randomly check had to be done. The next is to get IP camera installed so we can checked back on wat she does in the morning and occasions when she is left alone with the baby.

I demonstrate with verbal instruction so that she have no excuse that she do not understand my instruction and no I don't perform the whole chore but show her wat is to be done. Verbal instructions can be tough to verify if she does get the right picture since her communication skills are less than basic.

Hi, my helper wants to go back to see her mother who is very sick. She’ll be away for 3 weeks. Are there any paperwork that she would need to complete like the philippine FWDs? Thank you.

            = )

I only know the SG side. Just buy airticket for her. If she intends to come back, she will need her work permit with her when she comes back to SG. You can get a refund on the foreign worker levy. just go to MOM website online and apply to get a refund on the period she is away.

On the Myanmar side, I am unsure; best to call up the agency and enquire.

Hi, my indo maid ask for transfer as she is always giddy if travel far. I am Malaysian and needs to always travel to Malaysia, so now looking for new maid.

                  My agent highly recommend Myammar maid because ;

                  1. free replacement, if take indo, needs pay another $600++
                  2. Can work without off day, indo maid now majority want at least a day off

My 2 kids are all in secondary school and my mum staying with me. My mum is fit and will do the cooking. Maid will just need to handle housekeeping.

All the while take indo maid as my mum can speak Malay. But since my previous maid left after with us 5 years, the last 2 maids both with attitude problem.

first maid ask for transfer because wanted to work at private house, i m living in HDB.
second maid which current maid, complaint travelling make her giddy and always talk back to my mum and ignore my mum even see her climbing high to take items.

Agent said Myammar maid only language problem but with good attitude, so i m keen but now my worries are the Myammar maid and my mum, will chicken and duck talk, then during the normal days, only the 2 at home, how to communicate ?

I have spent close to 1k for last replacement, if get indo maid again, another 1k and no guarantee will get good one, so is it a good idea to try out Myammar since is free replacement ?

                  Need advise, thanks…

                    (1) Ask for Myanmar maid with experience in Malaysia. But may not be easy to find.

                    (2) Be aware that unlike Indonesian maids, you have to get a Malaysia visa (good for 1 year) if you want to bring the Myanmar maid to Malaysia. Can be quite troublesome because apparently it has to be done through a fixed list of travel agents. Some maid agencies can help, but others cannot be bothered.

                    (3) And there is potentially the usual attitude problems etc., which is not something limited to any particular nationalities. (Some Singaporean workers also have attitude problem  . Who say only FDWs can have attitude problem?)

If you get Myanmar maid, you will need to apply Visa for her to enter Malaysia.

Wellif you get Myanmar maid, just need to make sure if she has a english to myanmar dictionary. At least writing, for you, will be the initial form of communication.

Free is not usually that free, though no admin fee but it usually involves certain costs like insurance, SIP and application and issuance fee.

(I am from a maid agency which specialize in Myanmar maids)

Does anyone have a English-Burmese instructions for new maids from Myanmar to share? Worried about the incoming new maid English level - I had looked around the internet/forums and all are for English-Indonesian.

                        Thanks in advance.
