      But in the event,
the COP for IP = same as COP for OP (eg. In some past year case in SCGS), maybe more worth-while, to enter IP

There’s no such thing as more worthwhile (or less worthwhile). As per discussed in the https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=8667 thread, it’s really about the individual student, and which pedagogy serves him or her best.

IP sounds glam but it doesn't mean its good for all. End of the day, its about doing well at the end of 4+2 or 6 years straight.

Some Secondary schools are having open house on 16 Nov 2019, before the earliest tentative results release date of 21 Nov 2019.
        For example, TKGS and TKSS.

On the S1 option completion, first looks like we need to choose the course first before proceed to fill up 6 options, eg Express (for both IP and O lvl).. qn is if ABC school offers both IP and O lvl and the kid would like to try for both, need to take up 2 options for same school ? or got separate column to state IP or O or not? what happen for schools with affiliation, as affiliation only for O but not IP, if choose IP as first option, will lose affiliation benefits or not arh ?

IP & Olevels track of the same sch will take up 2 slots. (Page 2)

Will not lose the affliation benefit if IP of affliated sch first choice and its Olevels track 2nd choice. (Pg6)

It's better to rely on fact. 🙂 . Refer to Page 6 Point (e) of the S1-posting 2020 booklet. It stated and illustrated with examples.

              I just need to rant…

Now that PSLE is over, my child is bored out of his brains at school. They’re not allowed to bring any games to school - no card games, no board games (even blokus or chess…) nothing!

They can only read books or chat softly in class. The only time they’re allowed out is during 30 min recess.

              What’s happening??

And here I was telling him to study hard for psle and he can play after that. Back in the day the teachers will just screen movies in the school hall and we can either choose to watch or sit in our own groups to chit chat and do our own things.

Driving past another school (two days in a row) I see the children engaged in tally matches and rollerblading lessons.

So I really wonder, which school is more “normal” in today’s world.

              Thanks for letting me vent.

actually, with only 2 weeks left before Term 4 closure, i asked my kid what they do in school, nowadays ?

Kid replied that because of P6 Graduation ceremony (party) coming up on 15 Nov, with all P6 classes perform on stage to invite their parents to come and watch, they are all busy with rehearsal, preparing for the grand finale, busy with … singing, dancing, drama (play), whatever

your son, also preparing for Graduation ceremony ? for boys, do they need to perform wu-shu (martial art) or taekwondo, on stage ? are u going to school on 14 or 15 nov, watch your son graduate ?

Possibly, the teachers are so busy with other things that they do not have any time to plan activities for the kids?

My son’s school seems to have “solved” the problem by tasking the P6s to plan and implement recess games for the P1-P5 kids, eg each class is in charge of one games station. Or they will take the lead in championing some charity causes, spreading the word via their own “marketing campaigns” within the school, eg recently they have collected second-hand footwear that is still in good condition, to ship over to needy kids in poorer countries.

The CCAs have also organized farewell parties for the P6s during their final weeks of CCA.
