Thanks floppy!
In that case, is there any websites / articles to read up for the next best alternative around SK area? Have to cast the net wider. -

Frankly, if you are unsuccessful at Phase 2C, your next best alternative would be the nearest school with vacancies. -
Hi all,
Question on phrase 2B, If i apply for sch A and om day 2 the subscription is way over the number or slots… can i withdraw from Sch A and apply school B on the same day? is there any implication or penalty?
thank you! -

You can withdraw and re-apply to as many schools as you want. Your only limiting factor is the fixed cut-off time (4.30pm) for your final registration. Miss it and you’ll lose your 2B opportunity.

Why not just wait until closer to the cut-off time then put in your application?
Then you do not need to spend time withdrawing. Bear in mind there could be a long Q at the counter...and that processing time is not within your control. -
Thanks for the advice Zac’s mum.
is there a website which we can monitor the statistics of applicants for various sch? -

No. Best strategy is to station each spouse (or other family member) at each school that you’re eyeing. Only the school has the stats. If they don’t actively update the board on-site, ask the staff politely.

MOE has not come up with a “live” updating system. Maybe u can propose to your higher-ups as a GRL? -
Hahahaha Floppy..
Well, vacancy and distance are some of the criteria but I can't find a ranking by CCA / results / ranking of sorts that could assist in the selection.
The next best method would be using, \"popularity\" i.e. the Phase 2C or 2CS application trend as an indicator. -

To put it bluntly, the thought process is like this:

- since u are privileged to live <1km of NCPS, the most popular school in the NE (other than Mee Toh), just go ahead & use your chance, ballot regardless of the odds. If u don’t get in, then pick whichever 2CS school nearest your house. Bear in mind that all the other neighbors leftover from NCPS who failed will also apply to the same 2CS school. If 2CS also failed ballot, then request MOE for nearest leftover school before phase 3.
- if you don’t wish to undergo balloting at all, eg some people proclaim they never ever have luck at lucky draw, then pick a 2C school in NE area that has historically few applicants. None of them are terribly bad, as far as I know.
