LOL. It helps that I am emotionally stunted. So far no sob stories from all my helpers or maybe there was but I was too oblivious. They can mope and sigh and act bluesy all they want and I may not even notice at all. Maybe they also have 10yrs series on how to gauge success rate of their drama. With someone like me no need to waste effort.

This app may be useful for employers of fresh maids.

Thanks for sharing. This is very constructive in solving Sporean home requiring helpers.

                  Hi all

Gonna employ a helper to help with my new born
One question. Is the off day compensation need to follow the MOM computation or it is up to us to negotiate with the helper.
For example. The FDW that we intend to hire wants a salary of 580 with one day off only. We initially offered 550 with 4 days off.
Can I put that figure in the work permit application and worker contract at the Indonesian embassy without facing trouble by both authorities? Or it strictly need to follow MOM calculation which will equates to $22+ per off day.

                  Thanks for the help.

The Work Permit is issued based on MOM’s AIP letter after yr new helper did her thumbprint.

Once u’ve negotiated & yr new helper agreed $XXX & # off-days, when u apply for her WP with MOM, the In-Principle Approval letter will reflect the daily wage for the purpose of off-day computation & you HAVE to strictly use only that amt. The per day salary computation is actually based on her basic salary I’ve agreed upon. If ever the helper claim non-pymt, that per-day amt reflected on her AIP letter will be used for court computation. The Indonesian embassy hv no jurisdiction to vary what Spore MOM compute as per day compensation.

Assuming both parties agreed salary to be $580 with one off-day, either u apply personally with MOM online for the WP or yr agent applies on yr behalf, the AIP (Approval In-Principle of WP) will reflect in that letter 1) basic salary to be $580, off-day to be one per mth & there will be a per day $22 indicated in your letter. So, if she agree to go out alternate month once, you need to pay her $22 for the mth she did not utilize her off-day.

MOM uses 26 days to compute against the basic salary. So if u had agreed on a basic salary of $550 & 4 off-days per month, the AIP will reflect $21 per day salary and if she agreed the first 3 mths not to go for off-days to help with yr baby, you will need to pay her an additional of $84 on top of her basic salary of $550.

It is compulsory to get a POSB a/c for the payment of her monthly salary & yr track record shld reflect pymt consistent to what is stipulated in the AIP Letter.

                    Hope abv explanation helps.
