This being said, does that mean that someone who scores less than 250, for example 240 - 249 can also choose IP in their choices?
everyone has his or her own approach but here's my personal take on how to use the 6 choices for non-affiliated students:
      (1) start with the 6th choice instead of the other way round. put a \"guarantee, confirm plus chop\" safety net choice (let's say 12 points below the child's T-score) tat u can still accept (or barely accept). By doing so, at least u avoid the situation where all 6 choices were unsuccessful n u let MOE decide ur fate (which was wat happened last year to many students)
      (2) use 1st choice for super dream school, can try even if it seems out of reach becos fortune favours the bold, right?
      (3) use 2nd choice for a 50/50 chance dream school
      (4) put serious and long thoughts into the 3rd, 4th and 5th choices for realistic schools within the reach of the child's T-score
Best of luck to all. :xedfingers:

Did a lot of ppl get 250 and above in ur school? In my school there’s 27... is that considered a lot or no?

        \"Is it a lot ?\",
will depend on the Total number of P6 classes in your school, or the Total number of P6 students who took PSLE this year (call this figure, X), then take

27 divide by denominator (X) times 100, that will give you the percentage, which will then indicate, is it \"a lot, or No\"

        :thankyou:

Probably will need to check cop of the different IP schools.

You won't know the COP before the posting exercise, isn't it? The S1 option form and eligibility form only statethe course eligible as Express or Normal, but not IP?

What I'm asking is, is there a hard cut-off for IP e.g. 252.0000. Or is it 252.XXX, right down to the decimal point, because that correspond to the top 10% or top 9.XX%, whatever they have decided before the PSLE results are announced.

Or the IP schools fill up all their X,XXX IP places based on merit. So if IP lose its popularity one day and most go back to 'O' levels, maybe 240 can get into IP instead?

yep, it's all about demand n supply....if let's say many top scorers one day decide to go for international schools or leave SG to study overseas after PSLE, then yes, the COP for IP schools will certainly drop. But the T-score system will run only 1 more year, so the discussion is moot. 😂[/quote]This discussion is not moot. In fact it is even more relevant to the new AL system.

Previous discussion suggested that AL8 correspond to the IP cut-off. Which implies that AL8 is not necessary the entry score for IP, but the balloting score instead - at least for the lowest rung of IP schools. Whereas currently, e.g. 252 is the cut off, even if you miss out entering, you can still appeal if you meet the integer cut-off. The IP school may take you in since there are probably only a 'few' of you to absorb. In the AL system, AL8 that were balloted out could be in the multiple tens (would it be over a hundred?). Is the school willing to open an additional/two classes to absorb everyone?

Is Guangyang school a good school? I am puzzled why the PSLE score min and max is so wide? 188 to 250+

Let’s say school X’s cop is 260 and I got 260… will I be accepted into the school? Or do I have to be at least 260 and above rather than a minimum 260 to get in?

If you score 252, how do you know if you qualify for IP? Thanks.
                    if you qualify for 3rd language = u r in top 10%
IP is for top 10% , even though IP schs COP varies yr 2 yr, is b cos is the top10% figure varies yr 2 yr
so 252 definitely will get into IP just not those w super high COP but the sweeper COP schs 😄

What is the chance of 250+2 getting into an IP sch? Eg: RV COP 252, so my hmt of +2 will be counted as 252 or i still lose out to those of tscore purely 252 one??
