Dc too, no 3rd language. Better grab whatever time to get used to year 1 load.

I am of the opinion that if there is no interest, just skip it and dont take. Most will take and try it for a while but if there is no interest, why go through all that? If there is little interest, then maybe try for a while. No interest, just skip. Saves travelling time, and have more time for other things (school work/ rest/ other interests). For some schools, the 3rd lang day is a fixed day, so the school day ends early on 3rd lang days, and then you see how most of them have to rush through lunch so that they can make it to the MOELC on time...and then those not doing 3rd lang can eat leisurely. 3rd lang add 2 or 3 days for cca, means every other day is a long day.
My kids did not show interest when they had the chance in Year 1. We decided not to even coax them to try for a year. Just because given an opportunity, does not mean must take it now. If keen to do 3rd language next time, just pay some $ to take private.
My kids used the time to R&R and spend more time in CCA which they are passionate about. Both went on to international competitions and won big time.MerlionInGermany\" post_id=\"1948430\" time=\"1574515328\" user_id=\"2964:
[quote=NKTan post_id=1948400 time=1574510847 user_id=181287]Thanks for your advise. But I am not sure how heavy the workload is and how demanding it can get. My girl is the eldest so I don’t have any benchmark in mind. And She isn’t keen to take up 3rd language. But of course, I am still trying to find out more before the deadline submission date. She has DSAed into IP track so my main concern is her ability to cope. Or should I encourage her to try out one term if there is no minimum period requirement? Thanks so much for your time and advise.

So the system will on-hold John's 1st choice for School A, till allocate all the place to Clare, Ken and Amy? If there is balance of place then only allocate to John?
Choice doesn't matter. The one with the higher t score will get his/her place first.notymango\" post_id=\"1948448\" time=\"1574517705\" user_id=\"34900:
Let say School A has COP of 228, base on the following 4 students. Who will get a place in School A first?
Amy scores 230 choose School A as 2nd choice
Clare scores 238 choose School A as 3rd choice
John scores 228 choose School A as 1st choice
Ken scores 231 choose School A as 1st choice -
Yes, sort by Tscore first.
The highest Tscore candidate, entered first
After sorting by Tscore (in your example, above)
1) the candidate with highest Tscore 238 entered first, then followed by
2) the next (2nd) candidate with 231, then
3) the 3rd candidate with 230, then
4) finally, the last candidate with 228
(whatever their names are) -
Hi, would like to seek some advise.
My DD obtained 251, a t score neither here nor there. We are thinking of trying for MGS O levels (COP 254 - 2018) as first choice. SCGS IP as 2nd and SCGS O level as third (both COP 252 - 2018). Any idea what are the chances of the getting into any of the 3 listed above? TIA -
My boy got a score of 252+2=254(HMT) this year. What are the chances of him getting into RV?

Glad to see that the Sch is providing additional guidance to its weakest students.
Confirmed no O level class at least for this batch of sec 2 (moving to Sec 3 next year). The school has been actively pulling out the weaker students to give remedial support since Sec 1. Source: current Sec 2 parents.iRabbit\" post_id=\"1948415\" time=\"1574513674\" user_id=\"51587:
I know that the new P has been gradually easing the IP promotion criteria, but I’m quite surprised to read that RI did not have any O level class for the past 2 years. You heard this during the open house?
Perhaps the Sch is trying to dovetail with RGS in this aspect. -

So this candidate will drop out from the system vying in School A lo? Then other candidate who wants School A will have higher chance? -
