In that John n Mary example, it will be decided by computerised balloting.
I read the S1 sec school posting exercise booklet, Page 12 Clause 10.2, it says that John and Mary both have same T-scores. John put School A as 1st choice and Mary put School A as 3rd choice. John doesn't have priority over Mary. Since both have same T-scores, how they allocate?notymango\" post_id=\"1948607\" time=\"1574566227\" user_id=\"34900:

Lets clear some misunderstanding on this topic. Remind all forumers tat the first statement about the Sch has COP of XXX is juz historical info as a guide. The Sch doesnt pre-set any COP. Think of it as the MOE supercomputer first ranks all nationwide students by T-score in descending order, then processes No.1 student's first choice. Only after posting No.1 student to his school will the computer process No.2 student. It is completely based on merit, meaning the n+1 student must wait for the n student to be posted before it is his turn. So even if the n+1 student puts ABC sch as first choice, the n student who puts ABC sch as sixth choice still gets priority to be posted to ABC.
Many of my friends said is CHOICE before MERIT because the student choose it as 1st choice. I am confuse over this with clause 10.2.
Do read page 12 carefully. It is crystal clear tat posting is based on merit n choice does NOT override Tscore.
If we change the scenario a bit in clause 10.2, John has lower T-score than Mary.
Hence, Mary will get the place first even if she put School A as 3rd choice.
Alright. Understood.
Thank you Timmy21 -

You may refer to the COPs over the past 8 years (excel sheet in page 716).
Your child meets the RV COPs 5 out of 8 years.
Good lucks to your child! -

Real life examples? Plenty of them every year. Hang around and you are bound to hear from a few of them after S1 posting. Appeal cases will only be considered if you meet COP but failed to get a place.
Both J and M will be accepted if they meet cop, else if not meeting cop both will not get the last vacancy.
I suspect When it comes to last few slots, sch either accept all with same tscore (even if exceed last vacancy by 2-3) or reject all with same tscore (sch will leave the last 2-3 slots vacant)
Anyone came across real cases (not hearsay) of 2 students with the same tscore (all else equal like citizenship) but one made it while the other got rejected? -

Thanks so much! we'll try to reccee the area tomorrow but the traffic wldn't be \"real\" cos' its sch holidays already. thanks again.
Yes yes but for us, tkgs and katong convent el are out. Journey was unbearable.
We tried 135 last evening to the Katong area and ended up at vjc in the end. Both going there and back seemed to have quite moderate traffic. But it's the only time I've been there.mummyofone\" post_id=\"1948555\" time=\"1574557910\" user_id=\"97320:
Hi, does anyone know about the school hours for Victoria School? For Sec 1, How many days in a week are their long hours, say till 5pm or so? Does any of your dc travel from sengkang/punggol to VS?
Checked public transport, the fastest route would be nel to serangoon then change to circle line and drop at paya lebar to change to 135 or 155 and its 16 stops to the school. Is the jam along the stretch bad in the morning, would anyone know?.Thank you so much in advance! -

Personally I believe in essence based on all that has been said-better to choose schools which match your child's COP (or even lower). If we put a school with higher COP as first 2-3 choices, than the child's score-its a Risk that we take and child may or may not get not in.

So best to think carefully on this nerve wrecking problem -

But heard of some schools like ACS that get their students to take up 2 CCA instead of just one CCA.
So means, they can deduct away 4 bonus points, since each CCA utilize 2 bonus points? -

Where do ACS students find time, to attend 2 CCA, per week ?
