Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading the threads. Seems like only a few matters pop into my mind.
Someone kept talking abouit NYJC ? What the shit is this ? This a EJC Networking group.
Another talking about drop out rates. True this a serious matter. But there seems to be no "truths: to be found here.
Now, I wonder whats the purpose of this EJC thread for ?
I’d like to ask questions pertaining to subject Combinations. Are there any parents whose children are in JC1 or JC2 this year of 2019?
Note : Please this questions are only for PARENTS WHO HAS CHILDREN in EUNOIA JC.
My boy going EJC next year. Considering he going into Humanities : History, Literature being compulsory.
question 1 :
Whats the difference between GP and Knowledge Inquiry?
IS KI a heavy subject ?
question 2:
Econs H1 and Econs H2, whats the difference ?
It would be better if any students ( ie the children) are able to answer my questions.
Thanks. -

Your questions are general questions that aren’t unique to EJC. Most parents with kids in / gone thru A Level / with an interest in A Level should be able to address that.

I’m not an EJC parent. But my friend, whose kid just finished EJC told me the “high” number of drop out rates/retention rate in EJC is not true lah. Maybe at most 10-ish if not less, the norm for most JCs. Certainly not the 100+ “someone“ said it to be. So don’t get too worried about this.

So does other JC have Knowledge Inquiry ? From my understanding, only EJC have. Correct me if im wrong.

Hi, our (IP)JC (not EJC) offers KI as well.

The IP JCs all offer Knowledge & Inquiry (KI). A Google search for the SEAB syllabus provides info on what's covered for KI as a H2 subject.

Quite a few other JCs offer KI. RI, HCI, TJC, CJC that I know. You'll have to take a test to see if you qualify to take KI. In response to your earlier question, KI is a little like Philosophy and the exam format comprises Paper 1 Essay, Paper 2 Critical Thinking and Paper 3 Independent Study.

And to answer the next part of the question, H2 is heavier than H1. Therefore, KI is heavier than GP.

Similarly, H2 Econs is heavier than H1 Econs. Specific differences - please refer to syllabus.
