i need advice for the following.

My DD is in higher Chinese and weak in composition, i looked at the compo given back by the teacher and i noticed her teacher make some comments like:

1) 看图－不要用“自己”， 用第三者。不要用”倒数“法 和“人物”开头法。
2) 命题，开头用 ”倒数“法。

is there a specific rule or preference in writing these composition?

Hi Reenie,

For 看图, just need to make sure that
- if the main character is missing in one of the five pictures and/or
- in certain pictures the main character wouldn't have been aware of what's happening around him/her and/or what another character was thinking
then do not write from first person point of view.

As for both 看图 and 命题, 倒数开头法 is actually quite safe because the story would have happened, for one to narrate/recall the incident. However, at the end of the compo, if the student failed to 'bring' the reader back to present time (after the flashback), then this recollection of the incident would be considered incomplete. Thus, some teachers forbid/discourage students from using this 开头法.

人物开头法 is more suitable if the main character has distinct characteristic(s)/feature(s) that is being portrayed through the given pictures.

Try to relate back to the context of the story. In the case of the given example, did 夸奖and 鼓励 work?
- Why (did it work or did it not work)
- Consequences (what happened after 夸奖and 鼓励 were received)
- Advantages and/or disadvantages (of 夸奖and 鼓励): if the question did not mention anything along the line of \"从文中\" (i.e. from the passage) then relate these to actual life situation by giving example(s)

Basically, apply 5W1H to the given phrase and getting the relevant answer from the sentence/paragraph in which the given phrase was in.

E.g. Q17 \"她只是在装聋作哑\"
- Who is 她
- What is 装聋作哑
- What did she 装聋作哑 about
- Why did she 装聋作哑

Q18 按要求做了
- Who 按要求做了
- Who made the 要求
- What was the 要求
