EJC JIP with St Nic (COP 255), CHS (COP 254), SCGS (COP 252 as it's not SAP & does not consider HMT).
- EJC O-levels COP 9
RVHS IP COP 252
- RVHS O-levels COP 9
NJC IP COP 256
- NJC O-levels COP 7

With that, I don't think the COP for EJC will be much higher in years ahead unless they tighten the COP for St Nic/CHS/SCGS IP. Just my thots...
The question would then be “how much higher is good enough”?
Would COP of 7 be good enough? That’s where I believe it will be headed.

EJC is unlikely to be the best JC in Bishan. Does it have the potential to be the next best alternative in the area (currently held by a JC with COP 6)? Definitely and will likely happen sooner than 4 years (can bookmark this post and check back 😂 ).

Hi, Need your advice. My girl got 261 is my chance of getting into RGS positive? My school choices are

RGS
MGS (ip)
NJC
MGS(o level)
SCGS (ip)
Cedar (ip)

Also if we submit online, the paper slip for submission through school can be discarded?
TIA

\"When you go in with O levels, you are committed to the stream. Whereas for IP, you can choose any stream as long as you can promote to JC1. Hybrid stream is Sc stream for O levels students, I think.\"

Oh this is foreign to me! Cld u kindly help to elaborate and help me appreciate this point better...thanks!
Like after O levels, you have, is it 12 choices? So you put XJC Sc, XJC Arts. And you get into your 2nd choice which is Arts, so you can only choose the Arts combi. Same as 30 years ago when we choose JC. This, you can understand?

With IP, when you are successfully promoted to JC1, you can choose any combi, as long as you meet specific subject prerequisite.

Hybrid combis, I think, come under Science. So if you want to do Hybird, and you got your 2nd choice which is Arts stream in my example, then you cannot do hybrid.

This is what I understand, but I can be wrong cos my kid only sec 1.

Firstly, would appreciate if you provide me with 6 numbers, between 1 and 49.

Next, would be good if can give me 4 numbers between 0 and 9 as well.

COP will only be known AFTER everyone has submitted their application but you seem to be certain that you are short of a point. I like 🙂
FYI, COP is not pre-determined. It can go up or down. Therefore, in your case, you would like to hope that it goes down by at least a point this year.

Side track a little to third language. Don’t know if I missed out the discussion on this earlier on or on another thread. My question is: For a bilingual student strong in English and very strong in Chinese, with zero exposure to foreign language,

1) is French or Japanese more useful, considering taking bicultural studies concurrently.
2) which one is easier with fewer dropout based on past intakes?
Hi Jakoh,

If your child not keen in Eunoia JC, then she should not choose SCGS (IP), because once admitted in, MOE will Not allow her to change to another Junior College, in year (5 and 6).

Either your girl choose some other IP schools, or she can opt for SCGS (OP), and during these 2 years studying inside SCGS, she can find out from her fellow school mates how IP is like. Then if she perform well at Y2021 Sec 2, she can join SCGS (IP) later in Y2022 Sec 3. Sometimes, it is good to find out more first, before directly jumping into something immediately at once, in case regret later. Slowly, ease your way in gradually, find your footing firmly, from handling 4 subjects to double dosage 8 subjects

As for clearing Higher Mother tongue with 2 bonus points, as long as can get minimum C6 at HMT (O level), u will get your 2 bonus points

http://he.eduguide.sg/junior-college-jc-the-o-level-route/

Also, EJC is going to grow more popular, in the coming years ahead.
This year, for 2019 JC 1 admission, her COP is 9, on par with Dunman High (IP)

After the final last batch of EJC students leave the temporary Mount Sinai premises (occupancy) this Dec year-end, shift into the grand, new permanent Bishan-park location, COP for JAE students admission into EJC next year 2020 January, will improve. Going forward into future, EJC will grow to be a much highly sought-after JC. This is definite, when MOE planned for this several years ago

Appreciate your advice, phtthp!

Ha this is the question too, \"EJC is going to grow more popular, in the coming years ahead?\"

EJC JIP with St Nic (COP 255), CHS (COP 254), SCGS (COP 252 as it's not SAP & does not consider HMT).
- EJC O-levels COP 9
RVHS IP COP 252
- RVHS O-levels COP 9
NJC IP COP 256
- NJC O-levels COP 7

With that, I don't think the COP for EJC will be much higher in years ahead unless they tighten the COP for St Nic/CHS/SCGS IP. Just my thots...

Btw, do u have any idea as to what does it take to obtain 2 concession points for CCA/leadership?

Google for “leaps” if you want know abt cca points.
:thankyou:

Hi, can I ask if let’s say there’s 2 students A & B. Student A with T score 216 and student B with T-score 210.

Let’s say if the one w 216 applies to School A of COP 220 and did not get in, his second choice would be school B of COP 200.
Student B’s first choice is School B of COP 200.
And if they are "fighting for the last spot" in school B, will they look at the ranking of the choices? Meaning, will they reject student A with the higher T score because he ranked it 2nd, or will they just look at the T-score, and thus student A will be the one who gets in?
