I stay at Bedok. So DHS is still not too far off. Maybe 40mins vs 15mins.
It’s more of the dilemma whether VS grooms them holistically whereas DHS is very academic focused. -

My nephew was from Dunman High and I wanted my son to go to Dunman too. Agree Dunman is very academic focused and my nephew is the very studious type. Whereas my son loves sports and is more of a extrovert. My son picked VS (IP program) in the end and he's now very happily settled and doing lots of sports that he love and doing well in the IP program. Made a couple of good friends, get along well with his teammates in his CCA and most importantly participating in sports that he love.

Hi parents, I've been following this forum for a while but only just took the plunge and registered an account. Nice to be part of this amazing group!
I'm an old boy of Victoria School (1987-1990) and though lots have changed since my days in Geylang Bahru, reading Pages 88 to 125 non-stop brought back fond memories of my time in my alma mater, along with the khaki shorts, Victoria Challenge and \"O\" Levels!
Today, my son submitted his secondary school application. While he listed Dunman High School as his first choice, I'm expecting him to be posted to VS (IP) or VS (O).
I'm excited about having my son join the Victorian family and look forward to learning from and sharing with you guys and gals! :imanangel: :hugs: -

Have just submitted the school choices for my son. He actually missed VS’ last year’s COP by 1 mark. Just in case he can’t get in this year, may I know if anyone has successfully appealed last year? What’s required for the appeal?

To be eligible for appeal, you must meet the COP. MOE directive. Hence, if COP remains the same as per last year, he is not eligible for appeal.

I need to be honest here.
My boy from a SAP Pri sch, and got score 264 with Merit in HCL.
We are unable to make a decision between Dunman High and VS (IP). We love the culture of both schools. We want him to grow up to be a more well-rounded gentleman; and also strong in Chinese. VS is also more conveniently located. But at the back of my mind didn’t want to waste the chance of getting him into a SAP school.
Any advise please?[/quote]
If you want yr son to be strong in Chinese, VS is not for him. -
Hi there,
We just gave VS as our first choice but I am contemplating aCS I due to its holistic development. Was a tuf choice
Can I ask of u have any thpughts on this? Heard IB is a btter track than IP as its more glbally recognised and holistic.
Plus more choices.for overseas unis.
How is IP Program of VS? is it well rounded focussung on personality development? Is it very stressful like loads of tuf work from the start. Like year 1 has got Sec 2 work?
Thanks a lot -

he prefer to continue remain heavily (constantly) exposed to Chinese roots, tradition and culture,
(Dunman High / Catholic High / Hwa Chong / River Valley High) are more appropriate IP Schools, to choose from.
Ultimately, he is the one going to study for next 6 years, going forward. Not parent, study. Seek (consult) his opinion, which school he prefer, apart from looking at distance travelling to and fro, everyday -
Hi! Does anyone know what’s the schedule after registration on 23 Dec? Is the student required to report to school between 24 Dec 2019? and 1 Jan2020?
Thank you!
