Cutoff point... Can only know after posting results are out and i think one may need to call up the school to check what min T-score is allowed for appeal cases.

      For appeal,
the minimum Tscore required is the Cut off point, itself

Are we only allowed to appeal our 1st choice? What happen if actually I meet the cut off point for 2nd choice, can we appeal? Thks.

Can I ask a scenario qn......

In the event that the COP for o levels at scgs is 250 for example.

Can a person with 249 be asked to place on waitlist?
Is there such an avenue in the 1st place?

Suppose SCGS (OP) Cut-off-point, drop from 252 (2018) to

        250 this year (2019)

only those with 250 & above, can appeal
Those who do not meet COP, school won't entertain their appeal (eg. 249)

Come next year, around November 2020 Sec 1,
if interested to seek Transfer into SCGS, starting Sec 2 (OP), need to sit for an admission test, in certain subjects

        Admission info (SCGS)

        https://scgs.moe.edu.sg/prospective-students/secondary-admission/admission-procedure/

        ok tks

It's the beauty of a dual track school but also the limitation to outsiders.

If a place in IP stream is available, it will likely result in a parallel transfer (from OP). Thus, less likely for 'outsiders' to transfer into the IP stream.

But anyone can join in sec 3. Isnt it?

Yes. But the assumption is that the school will view all applicants equally, and not view their students from OP more favorably. TBF Itโ€™s hard to eliminate all bias. Probably the same with SNGS?[/quote]Not sure about the aboveโ€” on how they choose people. But I know you can put yourself on wait list for any year for SN O and IP. I also know there are rgs girls joining SN IP beginning of sec 2, that means they did sec 1 in rg and started sec 2 in SN IP. So they prob used put themselves on wait list when they were in sec 1 Dont ask me why they switch sch, I dont know.

However, not sure if they only entertain appeal cases where the school is one of the 6 choices.

Hi, I hope more parents can see the danger of having their decisions dictated by PSLE scores. Hopefully my personal stories can help you to find a decision-making process that suits your family.

I know this article that has a shelf life of no more than 3 days (before 27 November the deadline), but I certainly hope it can go a long way to help more families. Happy reading and have some laughs.

Thank you for sharing ur story. Ours is very similar to your story, still finding consensus on RI and HCI. Boy wants his first and only choice, HCI. That is why we are still heafache over this and yet to submit online.

Your child's preference comes first. They should go into their choice schools happily. After all, they will be spending the next 4 or 6yrs in the school so its good to let them go to the different schools they are keen and discuss with them on their choices before submitting. That is what we did. Hope this helps ๐Ÿ˜„
