hi, would it be too risky to put 1st choice with last year’s COP of +7?

2nd choice school’s COP (last year’s) is lower by -5.
So, in any case, should be able to get 2nd choice if dont get into 1st choice, i hope?

these 2 schools are quite different. Try considering:
            (1) 6-year vs 4-year; 1 major exam (A-level) vs 2 major exams (O+A levels)
            (2) co-ed vs all-girls
            (3) secular vs christian
            (4) socio-economic status of students
            (5) affiliation (with pri sch as well as with JC)
            (6) types of CCA n special programs offered

Understand the differences Timmy21. Im more concerned about the academics strength which school is better also what are the chances if selected in o-level MGS and later transfer to IP in MGS may be in sec3.

academic strength wise, i think u might be splitting hairs between these 2 schools. As for transferring fr O-level track to IP track, my understanding is that it's tough to do it in any dual-track sch becos u usually would need to be the top few students to be considered for the transfer.

I was told , student still report to the allocated sec sch n after that go to the desired sch to appeal, but does anyone know what is the waiting time to know your appeal is successful or not?
Very fast. Less than 30 minutes.
You can even appeal to schools that are not in yr 6 choices.
                    Provided you are above cop.

I live in the west, yew tee, cck area, and going to rgs next year through dsa. What is the most convenient way to get to rgs? We wanted to alight from bradell mrt, but we had to walk in an estate as a short cut to get to rgs, and quite ulu area, dunno if it’s safe in the morning or not, so don’t know what other way to get there that is faster and safer?

The MGS P said before that only a handful of MGS O level girls are selected to transfer to the IB track. These girls are usually the TOP few students and they have to have teachers’ recommendations plus must go through interviews. MGS usually takes in about 20+ more in Sec 3. They accept TOP students transferring from other schools, overseas scholars, and a handful of their own MGS students from O level track.
