Hi, first time mummy to P6 kid. Want to seek advice if this is a suitable way for sec school selection if score is 241.
First 3 selections @ 242 (CGS, CCHM, SM)
Last 3 selections @238, 236 and 234 COP

Would it be too much a risk to put 3 selections with 1 pt higher than 2018 COP and would it be safe to stop at 234 COP?
Thanks

i think stop at 234 is ok.

Thanks Timmy21......I had a hard time deciding the schools as they are either too far or not what my DD wants.

Not sure if the chances to enter 242 schools are high. I'm just wondering if I would be wasting a lot of chances if I choose 3 schools at 242. (Any comments? Anyone?)

Seems like the elites have performed well, just wondering how did the mid-levels do or will the mid-levels get pushed out if the elites can't get a place in where they want to go.

Hi, I am new in this forum. Heard from my friend that I can get some advice from expert here.

My dd got 252+3. Looking at the COP, she is at the border line to get into IP. Any advice on the choice of school? Btw, we are staying at Hougang
Hi Panic123,

Let your daughter try

SCGS / St Nick ( IP or OP). High chance to enter 🙂

Her Higher Chinese (distinction: +3), is strong. She is strong in languages, can tell that she is a language girl, so apply (make use of) her strength

Hougang : got St Nick school bus one way, in the morning, to fetch your girl.

St Nick have (5 IP + 5 OP) classes, Total is 10 classes.

We will spread up, all the \"old\" St Nick girls into various 10 classes, so that the Non-affliates also can get to know them. Everyone start afresh, from ground (base) zero, 2020 Sec 1. Everyone make new friends, from day 1, Term 1

We do Not group by Tscore.
All 10 classes are \"mixed ability\"

hi all, i am new to this website and i would appreciate your answers .i scored 247 and i am having a hard time deciding between Nan Chiau High (COP 2018: 244) and Maris Stella (COP 2018 :237). Both are SAP schools. I like Maris stella's programmes but i feel Nan Chiau high would push me academically. Distance isn't a problem for me.Which one should i put as my first choice?TIA
I have PMed you.

Is our choices too risky?

I was talking to a friend (ex St Nic mummy) and she told me quite a handful of her friends’ daughters gunning for St Nic IP and SCGS IP. Their children like Eunoia JC !! 😂 She said she was surprised.

Another thing is, many expected tscore 24X turned out to be 25X.

My DD1 went to help out at SCGS open house and she said this year more people attended compared to last year.

Can someone advise of Temasek JC?
My elder one is in IP, and going to JC next year. She highly recommend the school. My girl is happy and motivated. So my younger one also chose the school as her first choice, joining her sister.

I would suggest that you include a school with a past year COP of about 5-7 points below your dd (253+2) as the 6th choice. This is for safety purpose, although unlikely, in case somehow the COP of the schools that you listed go up by 3 to 4 points, you still have one to \"catch\" your dd.
