I was talking to a friend (ex St Nic mummy) and she told me quite a handful of her friends’ daughters gunning for St Nic IP and SCGS IP. Their children like Eunoia JC !!
She said she was surprised.
Another thing is, many expected tscore 24X turned out to be 25X.
My DD1 went to help out at SCGS open house and she said this year more people attended compared to last year. -

My elder one is in IP, and going to JC next year. She highly recommend the school. My girl is happy and motivated. So my younger one also chose the school as her first choice, joining her sister.
Can someone advise of Temasek JC? -

I would suggest that you include a school with a past year COP of about 5-7 points below your dd (253+2) as the 6th choice. This is for safety purpose, although unlikely, in case somehow the COP of the schools that you listed go up by 3 to 4 points, you still have one to \"catch\" your dd.
My dd got 253+2, she prefers IP.
Is our choices too risky?
Nanyang 258
DHS 256
Cedar IP 253
TJC 250
SCGS IP 252
Cedar O 250 -

Honestly, if you see the campus, albeit from the outside, you will also like. Amazing place with a great view of the park (just don’t turn around to look at ComfortDelGro or the Auto centre).

Hi,
My ds has done well such that he is able to opt for HCI. I'm happy for him but I'm worried about the journey to and fro school every day for the next 6 years. We are staying in Jurong West and he can also choose RV which is so much nearer. However he is so firm on his decision. I told him the pros and cons and he needs to learn to be responsible for his own decisions.
But still I am worried if he is able to cope with more subjects, long travel time and a fiercely competitive environment compared to his primary school.
Parents, do you have any advice or stories to share. Thanks

Let him choose his dream school. He works so hard for it. If you force him to choose RV, he will blame you if he is not happy in the school.

No. It should stop your worrying for that 2 hrs. -

Hi, just to share a bit, I’m staying at JW and I have a DD currently studying in NYGH and a DS opting for HCI also. Back then when my DD wanted to opt for NYGH, I also shared the same worry as you, but it’s just a matter of time for them to get used to the traveling and it is rather manageable after getting used to the traveling back and forth. More importantly, the school has been enriching for her and the experience is good so I think that wins over the worry of the journeying to and fro school. The environment would be more competitive but it is still manageable.

Same same sentiments as smileplease & floppy.

If you let him, it’ll probably give him a boost of independence & yes, good that you’ve highlighted he shld be responsible for his decision. I’m sure he'll live up to the challenge as his wings spread. Picture him springing out of bed early mornings to meet his teachers & friends, eager to get on the bus early to get to school. Hv faith in your child!
