Shall I appeal to MOE to check PSLE results?

I have a friend exempted from MT, 3 A*, 250+.hi parents,
My son got A* for maths, A for English and A for Science , MT exempted and returned an aggregate of only 230 , whereas a class mate of his with the same results has an aggregate of 244..
Can anyparents enlighten me if there can be indeed a calculation error? the difference is just too wide ..my elder son who set for the PSLE last year had exactly the same As and returned with 244
What could be the lowest points given to an A* and A..
Should I appeal to the Ministry to recheck?
Thanks vm

From her score, I would expect 2 A* 1A MT exempted to get 240s and 1 A* 2A MT exempted to get 230s and so on... -
Well, after reading several threads and in particularly those on T score calculation… each subject is different and there is no standard was to what is the lowest score for A etc… reckon my sons T score is about right. Paying the ministry to return the same results without explaination is really a waste of talent. In any case we appealed to the school that he wanted as first choice and have gotten reply that he is accepted… so no more worries…

Hi, has anyone been successful in appealing for the review of PSLE results in recent years?

According to the principal.....highly do not recommend. Never seen a successful case. The marking process is very thorough and vigorous. Just move on. -
Meaning to say that MOE is always 100% accurate in their marking? With MOE being very strict about appeal cases now, it is not easy to 'just move on' especially if you just miss your target school by a mere whisker. :frustrated:

Understand how you feel. But really no choice. there are 2 teachers marking each papers. I have heard first hand on how a science teachers marked the PSLE papers.
Just concerntrate in choosing the school of choice. -

Your result does not vary too much hence it is likely correct. Do not forget that the error could result in an increase in score or perhaps a miserable decrease.hi parents,
