Someone asked about whether there is any \" Bridging \" Maths course, in another thread.
The answer is No

https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=67330&start=2610

Above query, is for Maths

Likewise, for A-level pure Science subjects,

If someone else were to ask,
is there a \"Bridging\" Physics / Bio course in JC1, the answer is No

============================

Why do students (parents) request for a \"Bridging\" Physics / Bio course ?

because

In (IP3 and IP4),
their children taken ( double Science + double Humanities) subject combination

E.g.

scenario 1

their child taken IP3 & IP4 (Physics + compulsory Chemistry) in IP (St Nick / SCGS/ CHS),

but at end of IP4 promotional exam, the student did not do well for Physics, don't feel like continue with Physics (JC) anymore. Hence, student consider switching over to A-level Bio in JC1, thus asking whether is there any \"Bridging\" Bio course available, in JC1 ?

scenario 2

their child taken IP3 & IP4 (Bio + compulsory Chemistry), but at end of IP4 promotional exam, the student did not do well for Bio, feel like dropping Bio. Hence, student consider switching over to A-level Physics in JC1, thus asking whether got any \" Bridging \" Physics course available in JC1

Chemistry is compulsory in both IP / OP track, as well as in A-level, for Science stream students. As such, students will Not raise request for any \"Bridging\" Chemistry

Note : Please this questions are only for PARENTS WHO HAVE CHILDREN in EUNOIA JC.
...

question 1 :
Whats the difference between GP and Knowledge Inquiry?
IS KI a heavy subject ?

question 2:
Econs H1 and Econs H2, whats the difference ?
nothing beat better, than doing grounding homework check

1) Economics

you can print out double-sided A4 size page, for Econs 2019 syllabus from SEAB website,
compare & contrast the syllabus in detail

After print out, go through the syllabus thoroughly, should be able to

i)
figure out, ascertain the extent of, roughly how much percentage overlap content is there, between (H1 vs. H2) Econs,

and

ii)
what are the extra topics tested inside H2, but not found inside H1 syllabus ?

Likewise, do the same for GP vs. KI

main website
https://www.seab.gov.sg/home/examinations/gce-a-level/2019-gce-a-level-syllabus-for-school-candidates

Eg.

a)

2019 H2 Econs (9757 exam subject code) syllabus
https://www.seab.gov.sg/docs/default-source/national-examinations/syllabus/alevel/2019Syllabus/9757_2019.pdf

b)

2019 H1 Econs (8823 exam code) syllabus

https://www.seab.gov.sg/docs/default-source/national-examinations/syllabus/alevel/2019Syllabus/8823_2019.pdf

2) Knowledge Inquiry (KI)

2019 KI (9759 exam code)

https://www.seab.gov.sg/docs/default-source/national-examinations/syllabus/alevel/2019Syllabus/9759_2019.pdf

3) General Paper (GP)

2019 GP (8807 exam code)

https://www.seab.gov.sg/docs/default-source/national-examinations/syllabus/alevel/2019Syllabus/8807_2019.pdf

==================================

Alternately, if you need Year 2020 A-level syllabus, it is here

Read extracted ST news:
\"The school now has about 440 Joint Integrated Programme students from Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School and Singapore Chinese Girls' School. Three were offered places via the Direct School Admission Exercise. On Feb 3, they will be joined by 210 students coming in through the O levels.\"

The uproar of Ejc J1 retained rate but
Thats how I read from this extracted MOE updates.
I didnt make up story.
Im curious too about the J1 retained %.
Even lets say its only about 150 JAE admitted into Ejc due to no track records, lousy location,
MOE controlled factor as 1 forummer said (unlikely)
about 60 J1 retained in 2017.
Just checked with someone who graduated from this first batch.

According to her, less than 20 were retained in Year 1. There were those who went overseas to further their education and some transferred out, too.

Hence, the retention rate was not as high as interpreted.

Happened to go Bishan Park this morning and took a couple of pics of the New EJC. Beautiful....

The building sits next to the \"Bishan\" Stream...Can see from the pic the panoramic \"green\" glass panes of the Library. Should have a wonderful view of Bishan Park from there.

Also, I notice many hanging plants from the sides of the school building which makes the environment very green and nice

Can also see the \"Space ship\" building at the left end which house the elevated track for the college.

this must be the most beautiful JC building inSingapore

I can imagine how relaxing it would be for the students studying in the library and overlooking the greenery of Bishan Park or just studying next to the stream, hearing the sound of moving water amidst lush vegetation....
