Somebody mentioned before, on reporting day got so many kids turned up wearing their primary school prefect attire. Sash or tie. Need meh.[/quote]
For some schools, the prefect attire can be totally different from the normal, which means the student who is a prefect may not have the normal uniform, and no reason for this student to buy the normal uniform for reporting day just to blend in.

And I guess while there is no real “need”, there isnt anything wrong turning up in the uniform that they have been wearing every other day for the past 2 or 3 years? :siam:

        WELL SAID :-

“ no need to wear like a trophy “
I thought just by wearing that elite secondary school uniform, in itself is already like wearing a trophy day in day out. People would have easily guessed the student’s tscore is like top few percent of the cohort, creme de la creme lah.

I’m talking about those whose main uniform is the same, just need to add on the tie or sash or extra badge/pin. Can just leave it out right? Don’t need to haolian. Unless DSA via leadership & teacher needs to verify.

All starting again from zero mah.

On 23 Dec (Monday) Sec 1 reporting (Registration) day, school instruction was to wear \"Primary\" school uniform.

But if students turn up in \"Secondary\" school uniform, ok, if already purchased \"Secondary\" school uniform in advance & want to wear. In fact, if wear \"Secondary\" uniform to report on 23 Dec, nobody know which ex primary school u from. Only your 2020 Sec 1 Form Tr (FT) know, because of your Report card submitted to FT.

Sec 1, everyone start afresh from ground zero (base zero), just like 6 years ago, when entered Primary 1 (2014)

For students turning up on 23 Dec to register at elite school, No need to \"hao-lian\", wear prefect tie / pin / sash, badge etc,

              because

once enter 2020 Sec 1 class (elite school), will realize that majority, more than half the class' pupils are prefects, from ex primary schools.

Sec 1, everyone start afresh, from ground zero, on equal ground, inside the Sec 1 classes

Then can parents don’t drive Merc or BMW or Porsche for the school orientation? Can leave luxurious cars at home and take Grab right? Lol.
I drove an old Toyota and parked among a whole row of luxurious cars. Made me feel uneasy leh. 😂

My girls weren’t school prefects so I am not sure. But as sch prefects, do they need to be in full attire plus must be super duper neat as they represent their primary schools?

Once step into Sec 1, nobody bother about which ex primary school u come from, nor your Tscore anymore. Everyone start afresh, equal footing, on common ground (base zero).

For those who enter elite schools, if Sec 1 Form Tr ask, who have been prefect before, in their ex primary schools ? More than half the class’ students will raise their hand.

Then, is up to the 2020 Sec 1 ( Form + Co-Form) Tr to observe for a while their behavior, also read their ex primary school Report card, see who they want to select, to be the new class monitor / new prefect in a class of (less than 30 pupils in IP class / around 40 pupils in OP class)

Oh, I have never thought of the attire part.

Our school, the prefects attire for girls are slightly different, not just adding a tie. so if they don’t put on the tie, the tops they are wearing are meant for boys only. So no choice, I think for such cases, they have to put on full attire. Didnt know that it would seem "haolian" to do that though.

Maybe this is their last time to put on their prefect attire, so they wanted to do so?
I was tickled to see this batch of kids who turned up in full prefect gear for mo competition (my son said maybe they felt is good fengshui 😓 i have another boy who used to insist on full uniform because he felt more comfortable and confident in a formal complete attire) and even sch dsa-co preview sessions. 😄

Bochap loh, my kid turn up no tie or name tag

I think no matter what school it is, once they decided to scatter all the new students regardless their variation of t scores etc, the teachers would have to be more extra mindful in delivering and engaging students to make sure no one lags behind. This is important.
