Can we appeal if Tscore is 1 or 2 points off the COP?

Any successful parents here can share this experience? I believe many anxious parents would like to know.

Read the sec school website, for condition on appeal

Also, when u submit the Appeal form, the admin lady there will ask, what is your Tscore?

If u don't meet COP, admin will tell u that they will only accept appeal to process , if u have met the school 's COP. You can verify this info by giving them a call first, before go down to submit Appeal form

This sounds like by right cannot, by left don't know yes or no.....

here is Moe instructions for Appeal, under clause #5

Your child's Tscore should meet the school's COP, of that posting year

The Appeal process is Not transparent to parents, unlike computerised S1 posting. Nobody know

Why must it be limited to just PSLE?

It applies to everything we do in the pursuit of excellence.

JS watched thousands of videos of how competitors swim. Any top coach of any sports will know the best practices, training methods etc that others use.

Anyone who aims to win, with a winner’s mindset will get this. If you run a marathon and aim to win, you will not just be interested in your own training routine. You will aim to beat your own best time but at the same time, you will be interested to know how others are training (whenever such details are available). Learn from others’ best practices and mistakes.
I absolutely agree. PSLE may be over, but there are many more exams ahead, school based and national exams. We can use this PSLE experience to better prepare for what lies ahead and benefit by reviewing. My kid said definitely benefitted from the experience.

And yes, as a sports mum myself, we are always reviewing match performances and studying other teams and players.

Anyway, I want to thank everyone that sent messages of support for my post. Just respectfully sharing my opinion and learning from others.

Yes, appeal will end by end of 2020 January, or earlier, depend on the individual school's processing rate for Appeal. If they finish processing faster, u will be notified earlier

Meanwhile, no need to buy Sec 1 textbook yet, and continue to wear your primary school uniform to your posted Sec school.

Alternately, u can borrow a set of Sec school uniform from the General office (posted school) to wear in the interim temporary period, as some GO do have some extra set of uniform, donated by past students studied in that school. After Appeal outcome verdict is out, wash the set of uniform borrowed, iron and return to GO,

                    because

if u keep wearing your ex primary school uniform to the posted Sec school in 2020 Term. 1, u stand out amongst the crowd, and people curious will kaypoh, ask u why u don't wear the Sec school uniform ? Then, your fellow Sec 1 classmates and Form Tr can guess that u are in the midst of appeal (Transfer) to another school

Inside the Sec 1 Booklist, if there are certain textbooks that are common in both your posted school vs. Your appeal school, can buy them.
                    Eg
Maybe sec 1 Chinese textbook (work book) are common, or Maths textbook (work book) are same title used in both schools, ah, can buy

But if Sec 1 Eng Literature books are different, since different Sec schools use different lit books, then don't buy yet, until receive Appeal verdict

I hope there is no under table hanky panky...... if yes, hopefully moe can catch them.....[/quote]It is indicated clearly in some schools' websites:-

                      https://www.sji.edu.sg/admission/o-level-n-integrated-programme/entry-into-secondary-1

Students appealing for admission to SJI MUST meet the cut-off point (COP) of the particular programme. The COPs for admission to Secondary 1 2019 are as follows:

                      https://www.crescent.edu.sg/about-cgs/admission/admission-after-psle

Primary 6 pupils who have applied to Crescent Girls’ School during MOE’s Secondary 1 Posting Exercise but are unsuccessful, may appeal to be considered for transfer to Crescent Girls’ School. These students appealing for admission to CGS after the release of the Secondary 1 Posting result have to meet the school’s cut-off point.
