Thanks. I know in the earlier days, the intake was 400 and it has slowly been moving down to 360 and so forth.
The intake So far is 310 students. Think that there might be changes after the appeal and transfer out. I’m not sure what was the past intake.[/quote]
Good to have a smaller enrolment. More personal attention by school. -
Hi, may I know if there’s any common test (CA1/2) for sec 1? Thks

I think it's best to find this out from your child's form teacher on 10-Jan during the parent brief.

I am new to MOE system and unfamiliar with IP program. My son got into dunman high and i would like to know:
1) upon completion of 4 years study , is he allowed to transfer to another IP school? If yes may i know how do i apply for it?
2) what are the subjects to be taken during o levels
3) during sec 3, is student allowed to choose all the subjects (geo , history, literature, physic , biology and chemistry) ? Cause during my times my school did not allow us to choose and i had to struggle with the subjects i didn like. It was kond of toturing to me.
4)the dismissal time for each day (except thur, 3rd language ends at 6.45pm)
5) if students must take 8 examinable subjects during sec 1 , do they have to take 8 subjects during A Levels?
6) does the school offer olevels if a student could not cope with IP. -
Hi, is there any parents Watsapp group for 2020 y1 class C please? Would like to join. Thanks

1) I believed that if you apply to an IP school, you are to be committed to the 6 year program. As they will not be taking O levels and will only be taking school-based exams, I don't think any other IP school will allow them to transfer.

However if they are not coping and eventually asked to take the O level exams, I guess they can apply to any JC using their O level results.
For students who do well, they will complete the 6 year program to do the A levels.
2) IP students are not doing O levels, except for HCL/ CL. And if your child continue to do 3rd Lang, they are expected to do the O levels for their 3rd Lang.
3) In Year 3, they are allowed a choice between the Humanities and Sciences. Schools are now quite flexible about the subject combinations.
4) There's no standard time for dismissal. Different classes may have different late days depending on their timetable. Generally Fridays, they finish lessons earlier at 1+, followed by CCAs. So their last period could be anything between 1.20pm to 3.40pm or even later. They will share the timetable with parents.
5) A levels - only 3 to 4 subjects at H2 level and 3 subjects at H1 level.
6) Yes, if child cannot cope at end of Year 2, he will be asked to offer O levels. I believed at the end of Year 3, some may be asked too. -

2. If you get a 'D7' or above in HCL 'O' level at the end of Year 4, you are deemed to have fulfilled the H1 MTL requirement. Otherwise, if you don't get a 'D7' in HCL or drop to take 'CL' (for those who faced difficulty handling HCL), then you still have to take an additional H1 subject in CL during Y5 and Y6. By default, every students in DHS will take HCL from Year 1.

3. In Year 3 and 4, there are 5 compulsory subjects: English, HCL/CL, Math 1, Math 2, Chemistry, the rest are the students' choice. Normally, students are to take 8 subjects: Triple sciences with 1 humanity or Double sciences with 2 humanities. Those who get less than 2.8 GPA will take 7 subjects: Double sciences with 1 humanity. (of course those who get more than 2.8 are still able to opt for 7 subjects if they prefer). If you are MEP/Third Lang student, then you will have 1 more subjects to do.
5. If you are good, you can also do an additional H3 subject. -

Does anyone know the school dismissal time on 2nd Jan?
