From past experience, your DD can go for auditions for several CCA, weather or not she gets selected depends on the CCA.Even with no experience there is still a chance to get in.
If a child has no background in sports or music, is it possible to join a sports or music related CCA in RGS at all? Are all sports and music CCAs competitive in nature (as in all required to join competitions) or can join on a recreational level?
Thanks for advice!
I don't think there is a recreational level for sports, they select to represent the school so the CCA will not waste their selection. -

:thankyou: seems like CCA selection is just as stressful as DSA
No worries about the CCA, just try and if not successful then take whatever is offered. This is also part of learning for the DDs, move out of comfort zone and make the best of what life gives you.No need to stress so much, for all you know DD might end up liking it.

Encourage your girl to go for more trial / auditions of CCA as some CCA are very competitive. Many girls tried for 8-9 CCA, just like my gal. They will inform you if you are on waiting list. Some students may get 2-3 acceptance while others may be on waiting list. But need not worry, every girl will be assigned a CCA eventually.

Thank you for answering! One more question, how do kids pay for their food at the canteen? Using money or apps?latemonkey\" post_id=\"1955385\" time=\"1577273496\" user_id=\"175368:

1. Yes, wear school uniform.
2. Average GPA for every subject is different. It is not easy to get 4.0 (well, according to my girls). I would say it’s 3+ on average but typically lower for HCL.
3. Don’t think it’s out yet. Typically out at the end of the month.

Hi everyone,
Anybody know where to look for school bus vendors? I understand that there is a list out somewhere but I don’t have it.
We need a school bus vendor that operates a route that includes Tampines.
Much Thanks

That is what hubby said too when DD is choosing school!
My dd just happened to share with me that day.. for foreign Uni, they recognise the Raffles brand more than HCI or any other JCs from Singapore, she has no regrets choosing rgs over nygh even though she is effectively bilingualmengsan\" post_id=\"1955186\" time=\"1577170588\" user_id=\"31254:
Hi parents, has anyone facing a choice of choosing between RGS and NYGH? And how eventually RGS is chosen? My daughter is P5 this year, taking PSLE in 2020. Thanks!
But ultimately, both are good schools with very different culture. If being strong in chinese and knowing Chinese history and culture and having chinese value is important to you then nygh is a good choice. But if you are looking for a more diversified culture, then rgs is a better choice.
Thank you for your reply!

Hi everyone, what to bring on the first day to school? Does DD need to bring all books on first day itself?
-
First week is orientation, no need to bring books to school. Have fun!

Thank you Mishasha
