It appears that most HODs are evenly distributed to most (if not all) P5 classes this year. I am not too sure of the rest of the levels. However, I must say that some non-HOD teachers are equally good.
Hi
May I know if SNGS allocates teachers evenly, or do they allocate most of the hods and better teachers to the top classes? From the school website, it appears to be the former. Any idea? -
last year 2019 P6
Chinese HOD :
assigned to a Top class, as Form Tr ( P6 Purity )
English HOD :
assigned to another Top class ( P6 Justice )
Science HOD:
assigned to a Mixed ability class, as Co-Form Tr ( P6 Hope )
Maths HOD, assigned to which P6 class
?
==================
This year 2020 P5 (born 2009, due to be 1st pioneering batch of AL PSLE system), which are the Top 2 classes ?
How many P5 classes, not taking HCL this year ?
Last year (2019),
only one P6 class not taking HCL.
5 classes sat for Psle HCL papers 1 and 2 , out of Total six P6 classes.
There is a briefing, next Friday (10 January 2020) evening, to 2020 P5 and P6 students parents. Probably, Principal will be announcing the new Affliation Cut off point, under AL system, since students have already reached P5 Upper primary, this year -

Thank you for your reply. Both of you are right as I noticed the random allocation too. And yes, many non-hods are hood and nice too! -

This year, 5F, H, J and P got the hods. I hope P will shed some light on the affiliation points under the AL system.

This year (2020),
are the Top 2 P5 classes remain the same as last year, ie. P5 Purity and P5 Justice, based on last year P4 year-end streaming ?
Regarding new 2021 AL PSLE scheme, let's try to map back to current Tscore
our Affliation Cut-off-point, is 230
How to get 230 ?
minimum each of the 4 subjects , must score at least 80 marks and above
Under AL,
80 marks fall under band AL 3
So, (4 subjects x 3 points) = 12 points
My guess is,
very likely, St Nick new Affliation Cut off point is AL 12 points, because 12 points is the equivalent of current 230. A guess only, yet to be confirmed by P.
On Friday (10 January) evening parents briefing, this will be a \"burning\" question, in many P5 parents & students.
(P6 parents & students are unaffected, as they are the last batch for Tscore, this year)

During last Friday MTP, there was no additional information on the new AL affiliated cutoff score until MOE announcement next year. However P did mention that parent can refer to the new HCL eligibility benchmark for ≤ 8 total AL score & 9 -14 total AL score as a guide for the top 10% and top 30%, under the new system.

Who is eligible to take Higher Mother Tongue in secondary school ?
answer
1) Students with an overall PSLE score of AL8 and better Or
2) Students with an overall PSLE score of 9 to 14, who also attain D or M (distinction or merit) in Higher Mother Tongue Or
3) Students with an overall PSLE score of 9 to 14, and attain AL1 or AL2 in the Mother Tongue subject
For students who do not meet the above criteria,
Secondary schools will continue to have the flexibility to offer Higher Mother Tongue to students,
if they are assessed to have high ability and interest in the Mother Tongue subject, and
are able to take Higher Mother Tongue without affecting their performance in other subjects.

based on above info supplied, can we conclude that
AL 8 : is Top 10 %, of entire Y2021 PSLE cohort and
AL (9 to 14) : is Top (11% to 30%), of entire PSLE cohort ? -

P mentioned to use it as a guide only since a lot of information is not available right now. We may also interpret the total AL score for affiliate may be set at 14 or slightly below 14.
