May I ask for experience parents if it is better to go for as many CCA trials as possible or just go to those really interested or confident of getting in? Does signing up more auditions makes any different to show the kids' enthusiasm? Teacher encourage them to try more . What is the purpose of signing on CCA forms for each trial ?
Typically, they'll also take down names of those students who may possibly meet their criteria then match that against the submitted selection forms after the closing date.
Go for those trials which you think you are interested in and those which you think you won't mind being posted to, just in case all your top choices are the super hot CCAs which only have a few limited slots left. Think of it like a mini-DSA
I'm not sure if they still practice the yellow form system this year but last year, if you attend a trial and they are so impressed, they can pass you a yellow form which guarantees your slot and you can immediately submit that and not have to attend any more trials (like a Confirmed Offer). -

Yep, just saying that if the student gets a yellow form from a particular CCA, then if she wants to accept it, she doesn't need to attend any more trials for other CCAs. Eg. if T&F offers a yellow form, then the student is confirmed for T&F should she choose to accept it. If not, then she can continue to attend other trials/ auditions to get into another CCA.

And I thought only active or high profile CCAs are highly sought after. Even CCAs that are conducted once a week or very low profile, are hotly sought after too. The only ones I know that have many vacancies are UG ( with the exception of GG which is super hot).

I guess CCAs that are once a week are popular because they are once a week? Many children I know, who were in sports CCAs in primary school, opted for once-a-week kind to take it slow. Of course there will still be those who are very good in their sports who will continue. As for Girl Guides, maybe it is something many are familiar with since they have seen Brownies, or are themselves Brownies in primary school. That being said, being a Brownie os not a free pass to Girl Guides. I know one who was rejected and ended up doing photography in ny.

My gal who was highly ranked as a brownie (chief commissioner) was highly regarded when she went for GG audition. I heard she’s been placed first on the list but she had other interests so she chose something else. My point is, they also look at your brownie achievements not just going a brownie would suffice

Yes of course, the chief comm will be well sought after. I didnt want to say too much earlier, just wanted to point out that being a brownie does not guarantee a spot in girl guides. Cos main thing I wanted to say was why Girl Guides is the more popular UG among others.
