. Seems not a choice in sec school. Thanks for sharing.. so new to the system and everything so competitive at this level and fast too!
Think don't need to overly stress out on this. The school does try to accommodate the choices but of course, it's tough to accommodate everyone.

There are some that have very limited slots due to a limit on the number of registrants allowed for competitions.

But for those cases, if your daughter is really interested in taking up the sport, they also have the opportunity to learn it during PE lessons where they are exposed to different sports each term eg. Netball n badminton

Btw, if your daughter can flip a senior... I'm sure they'll be interested in recruiting her for the team!

my DD n some classmates are quite passive n only signed up for 1 of the trials. later, when submitting the 5 choices, is the attendance of trial a prerequisite to get selected?

My DD chose to join clubs. She did NOT fill in all the choices, couldn’t remember whether she purposely left out all the UG or sports.

One of her classmates applied for the same club for CCA as my DD but she did not get. My DD was surprised even clubs CCA are so popular.

so your time UG not compulsory as a choice?

It was just last year, girl filled in 2 clubs followed by 2 UG. 5th choice was left blank. She got her 1st choice CCA (she’s new to this CCA), thus, don’t be overly stressed over choosing CCA.

Think yes. Cos if u did not sign up for trial you probably won't be ranked. Unless it is a cca w plenty of vacancies, you probably won't get selected so make sure you are very confident in the trial you are going for. In the end, if you are not placed, HOD CCA will invite you for tea to counsel you to accept the CCAs that still have balance.

By the way there should be a breakfast w Principal session sometime in Feb and the HOD CCA will explain the cca selection process in more details. You can ask your qns to the HOD then.

Last year, inspired by Shermaine Ang who was the first female to win the prestigious SPF overseas scholarship, DH asked DD to join NPCC. 😂

I told girl not to listen to dad as I know she is one who will melt (marching) under the hot sun.

Tough training! What did she choose in the end?

                        1st choice - Club.

DH says clubs harder to showcase leadership qualities when it comes to applying scholarships.
