Was looking out for Redoxon Vitamin C + Zinc, to build up immune system against flu. Both Guardian and Watson out of stock.
Yup, Redoxon, most brands of vitamin C and immunity support out of stock for last couple of days. Went to a few places.

I increase intake of manuka honey, luo han guo and ginseng supplements.
TBH I’m amused by the paranoia surrounding 2019-nCov. Is it because it’s China?

Yesh. To put things in perspective, Wuhan has a population of over 11 million. Hubei over 58.5 million.

You are more likely to catch pneumonia and die from the flu than from 2019-nCoV. The 2009 H1N1 swine flu originating from North America was all over the world before anybody raised any alert. Of course, you cannot call it the American Swine Flu. That's just politically incorrect.

That said, the same precautions apply to both corona and flu virus. Forget about the mask. Wash your hands often, don't touch your face, and don't share food.

A bit late now, but take a flu jab. You don't want to be quarantined just because you caught a flu bug.

The “normal” Hong Kong summer flu of 2017 (no one bothers to give it a special name) killed over 200 people in HK over 2 months, the same number as the “deadly” Wuhan virus. Seriously, I don’t recall a similar hysteria over Hong Konger and / or traveling to / from HK 2 years ago. There are probably more seats to / from HK on a day than Wuhan in a week.
So, the Wuhan virus has killed more than 200 people at a pace faster than HK whete it took more than 2 months.

Flu, not matter what you call it in whatever form, be it caused by regular farm animals or airborne, is still the good old flu as we know it. Not scared. Dengue & zika - no big deal to me too.

But when they mentioned bats, peacocks, wolf pups, foxes, koalas, camels, civet cats, salamander, porcupines - ewwee
Unprecedented lockdown of a province - BIG deal. It's like the Netflix KD \"Kingdom\" in which that infected village was locked down and survivors in other towns frantically tried to buttress their clean town.

Not sure how many thousands from puny HK SAR visited us in 2017 summer, i.e imported themselves to our territory with the flu virus...
But nothing can be compared to the 3 billion trips made within and without China annually during 40-day Chunyun. Chunyun sees the greatest human migration in the world, and that is many times more than any other western holiday season or religious pilgrimages.

“During the summer influenza season, a total of 576 adult cases of influenza-associated admission to the Intensive Care Unit or death (including 428 deaths) were recorded from May 5 to August 29. In children, in the same period, 19 cases of severe influenza-associated complication or death (three deaths) were detected.”

The mortality rate of 2019-nCov is way lower at the moment.
