Surprisingly, despite understanding the realpolitik of this nonsense, otherwise intelligent people are still falling for the mass hysteria. If as they say, Communist China has been suppressing reporting of the number of cases in China, it follows that there must already be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of cases in China. It also follows that the mortality rate from 2019-nCoV must then actually be less than 1%. The higher the denominator relative to the numerator, the lower the percentage. This is simple primary school maths. You cannot have it both ways.

Congratulations! We have managed to become complicit in creating this mass Sinophobic hysteria over what is literally just a new strain of the common cold with a mortality rate no higher than the common flu.

Mark my words. I say this now. By the summer of this year, 2019-nCoV will become a WHO case study of over-reaction by world governments. Sadly, it may well also become another case of the boy who cried wolf, and will hamper effective control when a deadly novel strain of something or another actually pops up.
Well, the number of deaths could increase both the numerator and the denominator simultaneously, and the resulting percentage could go either way. Besides, there are many still unrecovered and we wouldn't know which side they will add to statistically.

To each his own. There is no need to call on anyone's intelligence. It is natural for people to feel anxious in the face of a new virus.

有备无患。Sometimes it is better to over-react than under.

Do we really need to wear mask? It is very confusing. If mask is not needed than why there is no more stock available at all stalls and online shops? Seems like not many people are wearing mask. So where have all the masks gone to?

G said if well, no need to wear a mask. Then why I see so many pple wearing a mask? This situation is worse than the annual haze season.
If masks are out of stock, why the response to collect 4 free masks from RC or CC seems lukewarm?
I dont know what is going on.

I will be going to collect my 4 free masks tomorrow. Everywhere still out of stock. I didn’t buy online cos not sure when or whether they will arrive.

Currently I don’t see the need to use them since I’m neither sick nor at high risk.

MOH says the patients are being treated with existing antiviral medicines, seems to be effective. So I don’t deem it a deadly or fatal sickness for a normal healthy person.

In any case, I have lived a full life, won’t have any regrets if I have to go.

just now, a friend forwarded me a video.

Not just the Chinese eat wild life stuff, but the video showed how one angmo hotel chef in Western country prepared cruisine involving spider, cockroaches, snake meat, wriggling worms, one whole big bag containing several eye ball dug out from some animal, for their hotel guests to consume. Feel sick, after watching this video

Actually I felt there are fewer people wearing masks now than a week or two back.

No more masks available cos some people have stock-pile.
