DH hv PRC colleagues who travel to US for bz & buy masks to send back to family members before the CNY. HongKongers doing the same, buying here & sending back to families in HK. It’s good our govt control sales, owise goes to these foreigners or PRs residing amongst us. Yes, made in China & wld’ve costs a lot more but they’re panicking coz no masks to buy till now factories back to work.

But huh, the Chinese don’t eat Thai rice. Their staples are short-grains. Majority do not get use to Thai rice.

Saw a snapshot of how masks are made. Automated & superfast. Now that workers returned to factories, more supplies shld be back on track. Masks production comes fr China, Thailand, Indonesia & India. Just ensure get 3-ply surgical masks. Not the cosmetic type.

if there is sufficient supply, and easily get, all can wear masks.
But now there is shortage!
SICK people should wear
even those one time sneeze or cough not due to illnes -these people must cover their big mouth n nose right.. i m also
\"angry\" with such people ; Yesterday saw a man sneezed loudly without covering his big black mouth - i hurriedly detour a big round to get to escalator

no matter what, most kids need to take public transnport esp the Go home route due to diff timings , i hope everyone be social responsible! i envy those who can walk home, run home , cycle home etc
yalor terrible so inconsiderate..I prepared a piece of folded tissue to put in their pocket in the morning. If sneeze or whatever, pls take out and use..even pull up the collar to cover the mouth also ok if got no time.

SINGAPORE — More than 70 trade exhibitors have pulled out of the Singapore Airshow amid concerns over the new coronavirus and the number of public tickets available will be less than half of those on offer in 2018 to limit attendance, the show's organiser said on Sunday (Feb 9).

Some major exhibitors, including Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, have pulled out over the virus.

The organisers should cancel it for public safety. Even singers are cancelling their concerts.

fully concur.....

The coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China, has killed more than 900 people and infected over 40,000. I think, the spreading of the virus will not slow down any moment now but I hope so, for the mean time let us be vigilant and be extremely careful.

One of today’s confirmed cases. See people questioning the going-ahead of Chingay already. Air show begins tomorrow...
One of the new cases is a 37-year-old Singaporean man who works at Certis Cisco and had been on duty at Chingay. This year's Chingay took place from Jan 31 to Feb 1. Before developing symptoms, he had served quarantine orders on two individuals from Wuhan who had subsequently tested positive for the virus.

He reported symptoms Jan 31, and had sought treatment at a general practitioner clinic on Feb 2. On Feb 6, he went to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where he was immediately isolated. Test results confirmed he had the virus on Feb 9. He did not serve any quarantine orders after developing symptoms. He lives at Sembawang Drive.
Ya! My goodness. He was on duty for 2 days at the Chingay! Win liao lor.

Air Show so? Yesterday we already saw CNY Chap Gor Mei dinner organized by CC when we went to collect our masks. DORSCON Orange should avoid large scale social gatherings right? But we still continue with all these mega events, then don’t know elevate to DORSCON Orange for what.

Actually I have some burning questions. The Cisco officer probably caught the virus after serving two quarantine orders. Did he not wear N95 and goggles etc? Did he spend more than 20 mins in close contact with them? If no, that means the virus can spread in less than 20 mins? After meeting those on quarantine, no need to LOA for 14 days? Complacency or carelessness?
