We nvr let helpers to bathe or night feed kids. Our kids know who are the parents. Yes. It’s the bonding that’s impt.

We handle kids personally at all times. Helpers only perform household chore.

I alway wanted to hire a full-time maid but I am worry about living with a ‘stranger’ kind of feeling.

Hmm, I guess it depends on how badly u need the maid and how big is ur hse.
Mine she will go to one corner whenever we are having a conversation. Takes sometime to adjust I'm afraid.
If possible, try not to have one unless bobiam eg, need them To tc elderly or children

In midst of this corona virus, anyone asking their maid to rest at home during their off day? Are they willing?

                  Hi guys,

                  Nd advise.
My maid who’s been w me for 4 mth is now saying she wanna go back indo.
Reason - she has hep b (which she and e agent who knew abt it did not tell me) and her 3 kids are sick from the hep b as well.
She’s saying her chest area is turning yellow and she is suffering from very bad headache.

Her request is to go back indo, not transfer but she hasn’t finish paying her loan.

                  What shld I do?

If she has loan, just bring her back to agent & let agent handle. If u send her home, u might not be Able to get replacement. Go Agent office & bag table. Say why give u a hep b maid!!

I damn sian. This is my 2nd maid.

First one attitude prob , wk for less than a mth she requested to go back agency after I asked her to wash clothes. (previously I wash myself, I know I'm stupid) So I sent her packing.

This is e 2nd one, wk for 4 mth. I suspect she can't adapt well as its her first overseas assignment and I noticed when she arrived she ear marked the guidebook given by mom on returning home.

The thought of retraining + paying for work permit /medical /insurance /transport =$600
                      -_-''

And there's no guarantee that she will stay

There is a letter related to FDWs:

                        https://www.straitstimes.com/forum/maid-agencies-abusing-their-powers

For transfer maids, am also puzzled why they hv loans etc. My current is a transfer maid and she has a loan to pay to the agent.

Am curious after 2 years with us, if we want her to continue working, how to avoid paying middleman fees?
