For the whole of last week, due to the coronavirus situation, I avoided going out. Nothing to do during free time so I started baking.

I made 2 loaves of Banana Bread, Ondeh Ondeh, Teochew Orh Nee, steamed pumpkin kueh, baked egg tarts, Gula Melaka Huat Kueh (which unfortunately didn’t rise), made a pizza from scratch, Banana crumb muffins....

Most of the above were 1st attempts. Never in my life bake/steam so much pastries within such a short period. Lol. Very unhealthy too, don’t know how much sugar, coconut milk and blocks of butter I have consumed for the whole of last week!

@MKS. Donki - same! Kids love the socks, game-stuff; I adore the variety of konjac jellies (reasonably priced) in our local branches! The bento sets as well, amazing assortment! & if you use Japanese condiments (cooking wine, mirin...), their discounted prices are competitive (but those are not big brand names like Hinode, Takara...).

Most of the ondeh ondeh sold outside, the Gula Melacca filling is hard, won't melt / burst in your mouth.
I realise Ondeh Ondeh is one of the healthier pastries, around 50% of my dough is actually made up of mashed sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes are full of antioxidants!

Supposed to send car for servicing on last Mon but shiver at the thought of taking Grab so didn't go.
Also postponed facial appointment cos I wouldn't know if the staff recently went China or not and facial is done in \"aircon enclosed space\" for 1.5hrs.

Yes, very happy cos everyday got new pastries / kueh to try. But I feel guilty after eating so much butter and sugar.

I donch mind unmelted gula melaka. What I really hate is when they mix grated coconut with the gula melaka. I feel so cheated!

then it becomes a bit like a mix of kueh dadar and ondeh ondeh!
