DS is sitting for national exam year-end and have already considered own BCP arrangement if school shuts.
      What’s BCP?

Btw, if it’s a national-scale emergency and schools have to close for high X number of days, causing the kids to miss out on a significant portion of the exam syllabus, I’m pretty sure MOE can defer/postpone the national exam. There is no crucial reason for PSLE to be held on those specific 5 days only. If need to change, definitely can change. Even have some arrangement with GCE O and A markers since the exam scripts are specific to SG only.

Very sad to see China healthcare people and patients wear layer and layer of clothing.

It’s very warm, uncomfortable plus urinate on pampers too

Yep Agree MOE can chg psle dates ( actually start quite eArly, still got allowance to postpone if really need to )
our GCE O n A level are specific to S’pore students, but I heard papers set were abt 2 yrs ago for current year exam, maybe can adjust mark scheme / weightage .(?)

Term for HK universities have been disrupted for many months? Have not seen any reports on how they are dealing with the exams and promtions/graduation.

Since there is no local/foreign precedents to draw reference from, just have to prepare for the exams as per normal.

I m just thinking all students will be similarly affected if schools were to close…so likely there will be no one with advantage over the others?

Then maybe MOE can use this opportunity to reset the exam difficulty level? Make it not so difficult anymore so students and parents will have less stress.

It’s a bell curve, so the difficulty does not matter?

Those without help at home will be disadvantaged vs those with help at home.

Those with help at home, school close or no close doesn’t matter much probably… maybe losing the initial stage of understanding, first hand feed from teachers ? dunno if online materials/teachingss could help?

Yes, it is still bell curve but if difficulty level is set at 90% of current difficulty level, then students no need to study as hard. Or, reduce the syllabus to 90% then students no need to study as much.

Even at the moment, those without help at home is disadvantaged vs those with help at home.
