If you are still harboring hopes of being called up & offered a place, (i) answer every single call from an unknown number, even if you’re on overseas holiday (ii) don’t buy any uniforms or textbooks yet. Or buy first and then try to sell them off later.

Let child attend the Orientation first. Who knows, you may both end up liking the school.

If eventually offered a place in your waitlist school (if ever), school may or may not provide a short tour to orientate the child to the new classroom etc. Child will mostly have to integrate on his/her own, without parent.[/quote]

Hi dear fellow parents,

I m new here My son is registering P1 this year and we will go for Catholic High 2A(1) - i suppose it is right given my hubby is alumni. Does any parents know whether 2A1 for CHS is guaranteed? as we stay very far so no chance if balloting is required. I saw some statistics but only with \"registered at 2A1\" without showing whether all got it the place.


Any difference between alumni with CHS primary or CHS secondary?

I assume when you said your hubby is an alumni, it means that he had joined the alumni association before 30 Jun 2018. He would have to request for a letter from Catholic High Alumni Secretariat to verify his membership status and present to the school during the registration exercise. Only then would he be eligible for Phase 2A1.

Unfortunately, the school ballot for SC > 2km last year in Phase 2A1. Could be due to the Dragon Year boom or could be due to more people wanting to secure an early slot, regardless of where they stay. Either way, you have to be prepared for a balloting outcome.

Hi everyone

This topic has understandably been quiet. I guess parents have attended or will be attending the orientation and also at various stages of preparing for P1 next year. I would like to throw up for discussion whether any one who has put their kid on the waiting list for another primary school has any success with getting a spot at P1 for 2020.

Hoping parents out there can share if anyone is still reading this topic.

My DD’s friend was on waitlist for his choice school and only 2 weeks (around Christmas) before P1 start did they receive a call from the school that someone withdraw their boy and therefore there was a vacancy.... they took up the offer but have to gave away the uniform etc and get new ones.
