Hi P4 parents,


Like to find out for the recent SA 1 Science paper, noticed 2 qtns from Materials appeared. But from the Topics to be tested for Science, no indication that this topic will be tested. Also for Maths, "Time" is also not in the list, again, it appeared. My son got all wrong as we did not prepare for them. According to our tutor (former teacher), we should feedback to the school and request for full marks to be awarded. It is not fair to the students. If my son can get back 2 marks for maths, he’ll be in Band 1.

Any comments ???

Are you referring to MCQ #22 and #27 for science? My girl got #22 correct but #27 wrong. For Maths MCQ #10, my girl also got it wrong. I guessed most parents like me will not noticed that the topics were not in the list to be tested. Or is it only me who did not notice? :oops:

If the topic was been taught to the kids before, I do not think full marks will be awarded. I remember my P3 son maths CA1 was tested on division which was not taught yet, so the total marks was upon 96 instead.

my son in P1 told me today that he'll be going to a different class for his CL lesson. May I know if the school has started to 'band' the students alrdy? :shock:

It is based on your SA1 results but we were not told which ability it is. Only the class number.

For my DS’s P1 class, the students were split into CL2, 3, 7, 8 and 9 class.

According to the parents’ talk given to us at the beginning of the year, the banding is based on our child’s SA1 results + the weekly chinese test. So I think the banding is more based on CL.
