What about PLMGS? I am not familiar with its 2C balloting chances but just thinking it is quite a popular school and the houses within 1km can be quite nice too.
Actually if I may add, since I will be shifting house and can go anywhere, what will you do?
1) Thomson/AMK area - SNGS
2) Dunearn area - SCGPS
3) Bukit Timah - NYPS (I was from NYGH. This was my ideal but I have since given up hope.)
4) East Coast - Tao Nan (we work at airport). We did not join Huey Kuan as we didn’t have any friends who are existing members.
Just planning for backups if we don’t get into any of the above, and seeing which is the best backup... -

I double Davischew suggestion. Focusing on the practicality of those listed and assuming money no problem, go for SCGS. Buying a property near SNGS just for a shot at 20 to 25 seats (similar to NYPS) is totally not worth it.
Hello @Floppy, we don’t mind a mixed school actually, no preference for girls’ school. I see! Didn’t realise Marymount to be the other option for SNGS - thought it will be CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel. So I can look at no of vacancies at 2CS, then no of applicants. Whoever has leftover will be the school posted to if really can’t get in even at 2CS...
Thanks Davis and Floppy. House-moving is indeed a big move.. 😔

That said, it’s not going to be easy to get from airport to SCGS after work everyday, especially if you work in ALH or in one of the AFT. The same can be said of SNGS. -
Taking PIE exit at Stevens Road should reach SCGS “relatively“ fast. Same with CHIJ TPY.

@Davischew thank you for the note! It’s much easier to consider things through to have people to talk to. Appreciate it.

@Floppy Same sentiments, hence our headache - to have higher chance, will have to put up with 10 years of stressful driving (coz I have 2 kids).
@MerlioninGermany didn’t consider coz thought the area seems quite densely populated. But thanks for the suggestion though.
@Zac’s mum Yes we have actually tried the actual route. Traffic load, trucks and all. Driving from SCGPS is more stressful than from SNGS in our opinion. But will take note of your advice and think through again.
Thank you so much all~ -

It really depends on the location where she is based in the airport. The areas open to the public such as terminal 1 to 4, or nearby such as SATS ICC1, could be easier for her to reach SCGS in reasonably time (using PIE). If she is working in Airline House or one of the airfreight terminals, it’s is going to be a nightmare (but SNGS could be less stressful using TPE - SLE).

@Davischew a little hard.. lol
Looking at times now... sighz -
Alternative is to focus on schools/homes that are more conveniently located next to MRT station.
After all, “airport” is also conveniently on MRT line. -

move downwards to Upper changi and bedok, take ECP/PIE directly to airport in <15min -
Could I just check if anyone got records whether there was ever any balloting for 2A1 for MGS primary in any year?
