The rest of EU countries not in the travel restriction or entry (SHA) notice ? I saw from worldometer
        site :
        https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
counts in some Eu countries v high too, Netherland, Norway etc higher than Japan cases lei :?

Those showing signs they are adopting \"佛系\" strategy will be blocked first. I think Lawrence mentioned that UK and Switzerland, particularly the former, had kinda given up on containment. Japan, to some extent, is also going 'Zen', because of its insistence to go ahead with the Olympics this summer.

Anyone's kids returning from the UK during the Easter break?

I think we're No. 20 in terms of Total Cases / 1m Pop (Last column) at 38.6, so don't be too happy. Japan is 6.6 only, but of course they don't count the Diamond Princess ones who are actually also occupying beds in Japan now. HK is only 19.9 and Taiwan is only 2.5.

I am not very confident of the newest ASEAN travel restrictions on air only which takes effect tonight at 2359hrs. We're so well-connected in the region. Surely those desperate to live will fly to Johor, Batam or some smaller airports followed by land or sea crossings to enter SG to (willingly) stay home for 14 days. At least being on our SG soil, they have a better chance of survival than say staying in Medan, Bandung, Balikpapan, Labuan, etc.

As of last night, 76 beds in NCID have been taken up. Others are distributed across other GHs with 2 of the 6 Indonesian medical tourists in Gleneagles.

Let's hope in a week's time, those socially irresponsible Safra elderly singers will be discharged so our curve will be flattened slightly. Each new cluster requires ~14 days to disappear.

Only M'sians and S'poreans entering from sea and land are exempt from the new restrictions I believe?

doomsday planning, if not enough hospital bed or insufficient medical resources, in pandemic

They need to give health information to Singapore embassies in their country and wait for MOH to give permission to travel before they are allowed to enter Singapore. Without those \"license to travel\", they will be turned away. If it takes MOH a long time to approve \"license to travel\", then maybe all covid-19 patients trying to come to Singapore will give up?

14 new Covid-19 cases in S'pore, highest in single day; 9 imported from overseas
                https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/coronavirus-14-new-cases-confirmed-in-singapore-9-imported-from-overseas
Today’s count is 17 new COVID of which 11 are imported cases. Wonder if some of these are fr the cruise that started showing symptoms.

Was thinking of Indonesians in Medan who fly into Subang and cross into Singapore via land. OK, noted they must serve 14-day SHN as they are not Msians

But wait a sec, this is not an issue anymore because no foreigners can enter Msia effective 18 Mar!

And neither can Msians leave Msia wef 18 Mar...I wonder what's going to happen to the border agreement between SG and Msia regarding the WPs and students who commute here daily to work and study, I pity those near 9-mth pregnant moms who have booked their confinement nanny from Msia. 😓
