            Malaysia announced lock down

            https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2020/03/16/pm-malaysia-in-lockdown-from-wed-until-march-31-all-shops-closed-except-for/1847204

This is real serious and what would be the impact to spore?

At first thought lockdown maybe a few places like Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, PJ, but no, is lockdown the entire Malaysia country !

Prices of essential items will go up lor

I shld hv gone to ntuc during the wkend 😞
Grocery price of many essential food items, will shoot up.

              Coffee, tea will also rise.
Toilet roll will fly off the shelf, again

Those food items that Singapore import from Malaysia, will rise, unless Sg also concurrently can import from Thailand, Indonesia, Australia.

But with the global pandemic virus now, every country is saving their own country fellow citizens' need first, in terms of food supply, medical supply, hospital bed, so that there is No food shortage faced, no medical supply shortage, inside their own country

Supply of vegetables, goods from Malaysia will face shortage, hence lead to panic buying

Traffic Cam photos of vehicles coming into Singapore from JB
                https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/onemotoring/home/driving/traffic_information/traffic-cameras/woodlands.html

Loads of Malaysians entering Singapore by land since yesterday. We now have to share what we have with much much more people for an extended period of time.

Do you think they leave Singapore when Singapore is worse off than Malaysia?
Will we be expecting food and medical shortages with large influx?
Will we be expecting social and communities tensions because of this influx?

Same for Indonesians coming in by sea.
                Congratulations. You get your wish.

Certain countries’ policies always flip flop. 😆

Who knows before Wed, Malaysia will refine their policy like will not restrict those with SG work permit to come over.

I think I mentioned before something like SG depends a lot on imports and Malaysia lockdown will cause our food supply chain to go haywire. Cannot remember who said this will not happen though.

Aiya, at most 14 days don’t eat vegetables lor. No fresh chicken then eat frozen chicken wings lah.

                      31 - 17, equal 2 weeks

If lock down situation by end of March show improvement, good !

If not, if lockdown were to extend beyond end March , jia lut!
Scaly Malaysia said their food produced, will keep for their own Malaysian citizen’s usage only, because their own Malaysian people not enough food to eat, thus cannot export out to Sg anymore. If there come a day like this, trouble brew

                      For a start,

                      Must start food rationing, apportionment

Start with basic food supply like rice, vegetable, per household.
                      Eg

Every family can only buy x packet of vegetable : cai xim. No such thing as stock up vegetables, until other people want to eat vegetables, also cannot buy
                      Anyway, veg. are easily perishable

High time to learn precious important lesson, from face mask, where many people bought so many boxes of face mask, just to bring back to relatives in other foreign countries .
Hence, cannot allow the repeat of similar incident, to basic essential food items like vegetables, rice, to fellow Sg citizens

Some patients cannot keep eating chicken, without any green.
