My DD's have already received offers for her overseas university applications. Unable to proceed with acceptance/rejection as unable to forecast the extent of the virus spread/recovery for each country. WA/Skype is not quite the same as meeting face-to-face for tea or lunch. Making do with it but hopefully not long-term.

It’s tough having to meet deadline during times like these. Possibly they’ll allow for postponement? Hope this COVID situation clears quickly as China & SKorea able to contain. My frd’s daughter in UK was scared to stay on for her studies looking at how the govt there don’t contain or hv restrictions so she bought air-tickets even if she’s going fall behind in semester. Her life more impt. It’s tough for everyone now to keep life as usual. We need to hv brave mental adjustments. -

We will just have to take it a step at a time.
Am concerned for UK as a destination too.
With so many countries in lockdown, hopefully, a clearer picture will emerge in a couple of weeks time. -

Don't think she needs to worry about falling behind. I think all universities will be moving classes online, and even exams. If she has Singaporean friends from the same course, they can meet up occasionally in Singapore, and keep in touch with others online.

My daughter's university is making strong suggestions that students leave if they can, and other friends with kids in the UK report the same. My daughter is arriving home tomorrow, with no idea if the summer term will be online or back to normal. She is bracing herself for the likelihood of online exams, taken from Singapore. We aren't too worried about the virus itself, but the NHS will probably not be able to cope if there are a lot of cases, and it's horrible to be sick and away from home. It's sad - all her Easter and summer plans have been cancelled. We just pray that next year, her final year, will be more \"normal\". Luckily she is a sensible girl, and will make the best of things without getting too worked up. -

Glad yr girl has no issue coming back midst semester. Hope she feels better once touched down in SG. As a mother, we always feel better to hv sight of our kids in safer & familiar grounds. Enjoy yr time together!

My daughter's Easter break has already started. It's earlier than some universities, I think. But most should be getting to the final week, so they shouldn't miss much.
