        Ah yo, hope not
anyway this teacher will need to serve 14 days SHN issued at airport .
Those who return on & from 14 March ( all countries too) will serve LOA by School

The teacher flew off just BEFORE (14th) March Hol started. She took leave on 13th March. She could have flown on 12th evening. Not sure when she was back thou.

So she kena LOA by school?

if this Teacher flew off on 13 March, one day just before 14 March,
then this Teacher need not be served LOA by school, because the MOE content inside stated ON or AFTER 14 March, then compulsory 2 weeks LOA imposed upon

No mention of 13 March, No Mention of \"BEFORE 14 March\", by MOE.
So, this Teacher WONT \"kena LOA by school\"

That's why if after the overseas travel, if she were to become a virus carrier, she can infect her immediate community around her,
eg. her own family members, her fellow colleagues, or those other places she run to, etc.

Hopefully, she is Not a virus carrier

\"To further protect the education system, MOE, MSF and ECDA will implement additional precautionary measures over and above MOH's measures. As some have travelled overseas during the March school holidays, we will issue a 14-day Leave of Absence (LOA) to students and staff of schools, preschools and student care centres who have been out of Singapore on or after 14 March, which is the start of the March school holidays. Day zero of the 14 days will commence from the date of their return to Singapore.\"

Fly off before 14th March, if not back by 23:59 13th Mar means still out of Singapore right, so will still get LOA.

I wonder if we can have masks sent to us from overseas for personal use. Anybody has any idea? My friend in China is very concerned and wish to send me some when she knew that I only have 4 which is given by the G. She has been telling me to wear mask.

Qantas has already announced plans to cease all international flights at the end of March, for 2 whole months. So no one can fly in or out anyway.

I think the huge numbers of Asian students studying in the Oz universities will be affected, if they haven’t flown back there in time to start the new school year.

I worry if our hospitals can cope despite reports said G is prep to expand etc.
Beds and facilities can increase, medical professionals can't increase overnight.
Big countries hv deep pockets to cushion the economy impacts, how long can our little red dot sustain?

                  NCID - 134
                  SGH - 15
                  NTFGH - 19
                  NUH - 12
                  SKH - 4
                  AH - 1
                  CGH - 3
                  KTPGH - 5

                  GEH - 2
                  FPH - 1

Gan Kim Yong said we might be converting some GFQs into wards for mild cases with no symptoms, and if their situation aggravates, they will be conveyed to a nearby hospital, e.g. Changi chalet to CGH. Some might even be asked to stay at home like what Seoul has done. It's better to ringfence the confirmed case within the family, never mind if he spreads one or all of his family members, than to have them spread to new clusters in the community. From a contact-tracing standpoint, it's easier to monitor 1 family that is quarantined, like we've seen a couple of family clusters in Taiwan. 家庭感染群

Those with overseas children returning these 2 days should strive to stay at home for 14 days too, even though it's before the deadline of 20 Mar, 2359hrs. It for the good of the community. If they start gallivanting in shopping malls, libraries, meeting up with old friends from school or religious groups, it's gonna be hellish for the MOH and CID to track. It's really hard to detect during the incubation period.

Yes, hope those who returned, irrespective of dates announced for LOA, best rest at home for next 14 days for self, family & community.

Good to segregate patients at diff severity & stages of recovery. When Hubei first discovered many cases, hospital beds ran out & responses was not quick enuf & many died before help came. Once they strategize for more hospital cum rest beds, they were able to separate patients & elderly affected seriously by COVID-19 and gave intensified treatment whilst monitoring those younger & less affected patients outside of hospital but with nursing care so that these patients do not go into community to spread. Helps also with official communist lockdown.

All China sch children are on e-learning & most hv adopted this culture of learning fr screen long before this situation. Our kids don’t all hv this learning habit. Most prefer screen games or gallivanting in shopping malls or hang out at Starbucks or the like. We’ve held up pretty well so far. But things will be changing fast with global increase in COVID cases. We’ve to accept new govt announcements & step-up controls.

Those foreigners that came in (outside of ASEAN, Japan, UK, Switzerland) before 20 Mar 2359hrs are worse in my opinion, because they don't need to serve the 14day SHN.

And even with the new advisory last evening, I feel that SG is being too lenient. We still allow foreigners to show proof of their hotel booking here and all they need to do is to stay put in that place for 14 days, and allow their GPS locations to be tracked by CID.

It's not good enough because many could be having a sore throat now and once they display more symptoms, they can call the ambulance from their hotel to check into our hospital, thereby occupying an extra bed!

In contrast, Taiwan has completely barred entry to all foreigners (except their own overseas TW returnees and students who must serve the 14 day quarantine) effective today.

I am ok with foreigners with LTVP, WP, PR using our medical facilities. After all, they have been contributing to our economy. But there are some stray foreign nationals without SG passes who managed to come in for purposes unknown to us because they are not detailed in the MOH press release:

                    6 earlier Indonesians &
                    192 - American
                    212 - Indonesian
                    226 - Dutch
                    238 - Belgian
                    246 - Canadian
                    258 - Indian
                    262 - Indonesian
                    264 - Indonesian
                    268 - Brit
                    278 - American
                    282 - Swiss
                    285 - Thai
                    312 - French

There could be more coming in before & after 20 Mar. As far as I could remember, non-ASEAN nationals do not need to submit the health clearance form to us before flying, right?
                    https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-19/health-clearance

I wonder if Expatriates (including the French, Germans, Italians who had not been to their home countries in the last 14 days) based in other ASEAN cities need to submit this form too. Some of the expats and spouses in KL or JKT might want to 'flee' to SG if Malaysian & Indonesian hospitals get too crowded.

Online e-learning has its own probs too.

I read that some NUS students resorted to plagiarism and cheating for some online exam!

Yes. Same here. My goodfrd said China started increased production & they can order fr their pharmacies. She sent me masks & alcohol wipes.

This is the frd who will whip out her alcohol wipes long before COVID & she caution must wear masks as situation gets worse. Her family stay home & she’s increasing her garden with organic edibles.

China had sent self-contained cubicles to help SKorea set up increase number of mobile treatment rooms. They’ve sent many masks all over to NK, SK, Italy, etc even medical doctors to help Italy cope with increasing number of COVID-19 infected patients.
