Ya can be worrying ! so this is the minus side of biometric passport :(.
But nowadays with biometric passport can go many places without getting passport stamped. Like Hong Kong and New Zealand. PRs balik Kampong also no stamp.phtthp\" post_id=\"1967804\" time=\"1584626253\" user_id=\"35251:
Hence, checking students' passport to verify, is the best way. Cannot run away from the truth, inside Passport content
Some Patents can easily keep quiet n send kids back to sch .... arrrggghh !

If one week holiday is too disruptive to families have no carer at home, can we have kids from families with members returning from overseas less than 14 days to do online study? This to include after 14Mar returnees yeah.. -
Nowsadays, all govt agencies are electronically linked.
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority has an electronic record of who enters SG, when and what time. Unless u swim across the ocean like Mas Selamat.
Itβs fairly easy for them to share the information with Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health, transmit via email or cloud in one second.
You cannot hide. -
Can share data but dunno take how long to do filter the right immigration data of age going kids.Unless criminal investigations then maybe they have to speed up by cid.
Records to moe need to match whole data base of students in spore . Gov tech may not have such resources N time . I go ask my close relative who is in sch Mgmt team next time when things ease down Abt what records they have . Current is based on parents gateway n paper declarations -

ours through parents gateway and if any change need update/resubmit if I m not wrong.. not sure if the declaration at school level or moe level but somehow I doubt they will cross check/reconcile to immigration side ba.. largely depends on individual but then esp young kids some will tell alot of things.. I believe many families will be affected/inconvenienced by any measures but I feel that if that is the right way to go then all must work towards it then only we have chance to see early recovery, what we really hoping for..

For those arriving after 2359hrs -- I still find that SG is too \"laissez faire'', as compared to China, HK and Taiwan with regard to the new wave of returnees, some of whom could be imported cases.
agree with zeit. rather worrying too , these two days before 20/3 2359hrs with no SHN to them , so many can fly in to (who may be already ill but no fever) seek our medical services
alreadyhave so many import cases
https://www.stb.gov.sg/content/stb/en/home-pages/advisory-on-covid-19.html
. From 20 March 2020, 2359 hours, all travellers entering Singapore will be issued with a 14-day Stay Home Notice (SHN)2. They will be required to provide proof of the place where they will serve the 14-day SHN, for example a hotel booking covering the entire period, or a place of residence they or their family members own.
Why don't they just learn from China and Taiwan to partner with a few hotels to convert them into Quarantine Hotels? There are 3 in Taipei and another couple in New Taipei. Since a month ago, Taipei's Xiao Huang yellow cabbies have formed a team to send passengers from the airport to their Quarantine Hotels or homes if the overseas students, returnees or PRs have one. All travellers (locals inclusive) must pay for their own 14-day stay at these designated Quarantine Hotels as 3 meals will be delivered to their doorstep daily.

In China, my friend didn't even get to cross the aerobridge because they had removed it! The airport made all passengers walk down the stairs to board a fleet of chartered coaches waiting on the tarmac that took them direct to Quarantine Hotels designated by the municipal govt, or to a designated point that allows local residents to commute to their own home if they have one in that city.
By designating a few hotels i.e. limiting the passengers' choices, and by only allowing the arrived passengers to take only designated chartered buses or designated yellow cabs to their 14-day isolation place, the local authorities can confine their contact-tracing to only a small group of affected service providers, should any of them be tested positive within the fortnight or beyond.
In Singapore, we allow passengers to book any hotel located all over our island as they like. Therefore, imagine if someone tested positive had booked Conrad and another had booked Marriott, MOH would have to quarantine all those affected service staff in both hotel clusters and trace the different taxi operators, PHVs or even SBS bus and MRT the 2 guys had taken from the airport. The no of people to be placed under quarantine will increase exponentially. It's additional workload for CID.
Also, Singapore govt don't bar tourists from using our public transport like MRT, unlike China and Taiwan which had banned tourists from taking the HSR, and subway from the airport. It's easier to trace if you partner certain taxi operators or bus companies to do this.
HK started issuing electronic wristbands to tag those under home quarantine many weeks ago. It's a bit intrusive but at least they leverage smart technology to ease their job. My friends' kids from UK boarding school returning to HK must don those wearable wristbands, so that the authorities know if they had disappeared from their home.
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/18/hong-kong-uses-electronic-wristbands-to-enforce-coronavirus-quarantine.html
Taiwan has also 'intruded' into the privacy of those under quarantine, way before Singapore uses GPS, by sending people an SMS warning as soon as they moved an inch outside their home boundary/base station. -

I find some of the responses from students really disturbing, given that they were warned in advance against cheating:
NUS students cheated in Computer Science Practical exam, during virus period
https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/nus-students-allegedly-abuse-covid-19-measures-to-cheat-on-exam
Some claimed they had cheated because the conditions were difficult and it was to be expected, while others said they had learnt their lesson.
One post, addressed to Mr Prabawa, claimed that if disciplinary action was taken, it would be the school's fault that \"almost half\" of the students would be severely affected and face problems with graduation and finding jobs.
The comments in red - what sort of people are they? -

The Education Minister has already said 1000+ went overseas, right? Not sure if they did an audit of those travel declarations submitted via PG app. I think they should check against the ICA records. Some could be omitting some details. In fact, I was guilty of that in some years too. I was too lazy to key in each and every city I'd planned to visit in Japan (there were a total of 10 or 12 fields, each with City, Country & corresponding FROM dd/mm/yy TO dd/mm/yy). Imagine everyone's so lazy like me and only entered ''Seoul'' for the entire period, MOE won't know if someone had gone to ''Daegu'' for 2 days during that period.
Tuition and enrichment centres are the real η ΄ε£. I heard someone went to Msia and still appeared in holiday workshop this week. The tutor freaked out and asked student to wait at the counter for parent to go back to take him home. οΌ©also know there are stubborn tutors who insisted on travelling this Mar holiday because they had already booked their tickets and hotel. Now I know one entire class is affected because the tutor must be on LOA for 14 days. Why are there Singaporeans like that? Is it so difficult to stay put till end of the year? Can't control their wanderlust?
