There is a letter related to FDWs:

      https://www.straitstimes.com/forum/maid-agencies-abusing-their-powers

For transfer maids, am also puzzled why they hv loans etc. My current is a transfer maid and she has a loan to pay to the agent.

Am curious after 2 years with us, if we want her to continue working, how to avoid paying middleman fees?

Renew yr helper’s WP directly using MOM online rather than go back to agent. You don’t hv to go vackbto Agent if u renew her WP on yr own. It costs only $35, pay direct to MOM, if u do yr own renewal.

          Hi there,

How do I complain about a maid.
Currently I have her details like her:
          Full Name
          Date of Birth
          Religion
          Country

I also have her details like her
mobile phone number, her address, photo (all these possible intelligence gathering in facebook)

However, the maid is not directly employed by us.
She ask my husband whether want to go happy happy with another lady because she needs money and she gladly did.

Will complain to MOM help as I don’t have her FIN number and such?
I was able find an agency that she tried to seek help seeking employment.
But to my disappointment, the agency did not employ her.

If she solicit yr husband, get him to report her officially with proof of course (WhatsApp msgs, etc). Once investigated, she’ll be sent back. My gfrd’s maid solicit & sent back immediately by police.

Show the msg to the police. Str away both get repatriated! One for pumping & the other ??? Unless the other denies & says her frd set her up. Police might setup a trap to gather their own evidence. Yr proof is good enuf to let start clean up these rubbish contaminating amidst our community.

They don’t appreciate & value their jobs enuf to behave & protect their rice-bowls. Even a salary of $500 alr very good to feed a big family back home. Their “very poor, ... need money” means must do these outside soliciting? Bcoz of money no more morals or ethics? So greedy. Best send them back before they teach a whole kampong of maids easy money!

                  Complain directly to the police?

Actually I send a email to MOM last week.
They say it is a valid reason for filing a case.
However they need a FIN number, address etc (but I dun employ her so I don’t know, so far haven’t go reply yet)
How about the Indonesia Embassy will it help?

Don’t think the Indonesian Embassy wants to spend time on this.

The right channel is the police. MOM will indeed need a FIN number or WP number to track. Police, on the other hand will be interested to enforce public safety & order. They shld be able to track that hp or setup a lure meeting. So long as u hv that piece of legitimate evidence. Go to the right authority. They’ll coordinate with MOM to deport.

Will publicly shaming the maid be an option

2ndly, I am concern that complaining to the police will led to my husband hating me even more.

It’s your decision. But I find going to every avenues except the police, are all futile. JMO
