Zac Mum
If the CC is near your home, u can try go collect regardless of the date. The 'business' is lousy and the staff just settled for us. -
Oh, no ‘business’ is experienced in other CCs ? I thought only the one near my home.
Many just can’t be bothered despite saying can’t get this and that.
I just tried using the water based hand sanitizer and think it is ok when water with soap is not available. -

Yes. Same here. MIL didn’t rec notice but we walked in to her CC & collectedstarlight1968sg\" post_id=\"1968884\" time=\"1585354481\" user_id=\"14025:I have not collected yet. Mine is scheduled to be on 29 March.
It’s water-based so hopefully those people who have sensitive skin (eczema aggravated by alcohol) will find it better. -

If virus worsen, increase the dosage of HBL, per week[/quote]I think that's MOE's idea. It's good that they are trying it out like that to give everyone some time to work out the kinks. We practised meeting online in our office recently too as we have a good many non-tech-savvy older people who needed a lot of help. If not, if the situation worsens and they have to close schools/offices suddenly, some may not be able to handle it. -

Parents slowly hv to calibrate how our kids will be constructively engaged in a balance way (no locker to keep their hp during sch hours, more snacks easily accessible at home, more lax with our children’s posture - all these esp for FTWP to think ahead to handle)

I can imagine the scenario of laptop & printer bz going up, and families with parents & kids all chopping their laptop slots. Lol. A family of 4-5 sitting ard dining table working & e-learning for 2 weeks, 3 weeks? -
Those elearning for tuition class, are the kids to tr ratio each session the same as b4?
-
I have been trying to call Wang since this morning but the line is forever engaged and transferred to voice mail!
Does anyone know what they meant by 2 free lessons in May?
Does it mean 2 of the lessons in May will be free so it offset 2 lessons for Apr e-learning? -

Gives everyone more time to adjust.

I can't help but keep referring to HK and TW. These places are pretty used to school closures due to typhoons once every x years. Their tuition centres also have BCP to deal with frequent closures. You don't see them complaining too much. It's like something quite common, except this time it's for a longer period. HK's schools have been closed since Jan. They will reopen on 20 Apr.
Is it so difficult to house our pupils of lower income families with no PCs and printers at home, of key workers (like healthcare, police) and of single parents?
Can they round them up according to their electoral wards/precincts and get them to go to their respective precinct's community club aircon/badminton halls during the period of closure, if any? If the Govt can sponsor those guys repatriated from China each with a Xiao Mi handset, can't some Clan or IT organisation sponsor/loan laptops with mic and headphones to these kids for 2 - 4 weeks?
The older kids can sit 1.5m apart in the badminton hall, supported by IT assistants and maybe despatch some subject HODs from those schools whose kids are housed in that particular CC to be on patrol, in case their pupils need some clarifications. The pupils can log on to their respective school's Zoom session and what nots to e-learn or sign in to SLS to complete their online assignments. Move some school printers to the hall in case the older kids need to print stuffs.
Primary kids can be placed in smaller rooms usually located on the second floor of CC. Provide them with laptops too. Ask NLB to cart some storybooks over to keep them occupied.
Prepare some sleeping bags/mattresses for the kids to nap on. Too cruel? Not at all, this is what they do in childcare and studentcare centres too. No beds.
Get NTUC Foodfare or some co-op to cater recess bentos for these pupils until the end of school day. In case you worry about the loss of income for canteen vendors, then get them to prepare bentos for these kids. Govt can pay the vendors.
The outdoor hardcourt and basketball beside the CC could be open to older groups of no more than 10 pupils in the afternoon. The teens can play some soccer or basketball after they've completed their online assignments in the indoor badminton hall. Roster some young single teachers with no family commitments to be there to watch over them.
Release them at the same time per normal. The older kids can walk home themselves, while the young ones can be fetched by that same someone who receives them daily after school.
All entertainment joints and sports facilities have already been closed. I do not see how the teens can gallivant that much. If the Govt is so ''fatherly'' and worry our teenagers will go loitering at some mall to contract the virus, just issue them with those electronic wristbands to tag them lah. We're a smart nation and we cannot even produce those hospital wristbands with Bar-code or QR code or biometric chip implanted? Don't xia suay \"smart nation\".
Alternatively, have a dedicated MOE school in each precinct for all eligible pupils from various schools belonging to that particular precinct to use. There are ready laptops and printers in the school computer labs. No need to move any equipment. There's the canteen there. Just buy from there. There's the basketball court and field there to let them run about. No need to borrow CC premises at all. But the dedicated MOE school location must be within walking distance to the pupils' homes so they don't need to commute that much to contract the virus, not that I imagine any one would be still on the streets when schools are closed.
