Will you use an electrician who does not have any certification?

I mean to say that when we bought the tap from the shop, they recommend this young chap to us. He changed the tap for us and he told us he can also do electrical stuff. So we have not used him for any electrical works yet.

For electrical works, if it’s done badly, it could be dangerous! I live in a HDB flat, so I believe that we have to use contractors with HDB approval, and I guess certification would be needed. If you live in private property, I think it would still be prudent to get a contractor with some kind of certification.

I have never ask an electrician to show his cert. It is usually thru word of mouth to get an electrician to get the work done.
Installation of a ceiling fan is about $60 … -

So it seems like the majority here don’t ask the electrician to show his certs.
