Hi my girl was born in Aug 2005 may i know when isthe school registeration for year born in 2005?
-
I just wonder, for P1 registration exercise.. it is clearly defined, for Singaporean citizen and PR can register under phase 1 to 2C and foreigner is under phase 3.
How about for waiting list? Lets say our child has already got a place in a primary school, and we want to put him / her under waiting list at another school. Do Singaporean citizen, PR and foreigner have the same chances or priority? :? -

Registration in 2011, for 2012 P1 intake. This coming months are for kids born in 2004. -

I think wait lists are the perogative of the school. Principals would have the discretion to decide if a particular child's situation is more 'deserving' (eg parent had spent many hours volunteer, or if child has special talent in sports/other activities) or if they are going on a who come first basis. There is no hard and fast rule.I just wonder, for P1 registration exercise.. it is clearly defined, for Singaporean citizen and PR can register under phase 1 to 2C and foreigner is under phase 3.

I agree with hquek. Waitlist and transfer of school is managed and decided by the receiving school.

allseasons,
If you wish to place your child under wait list at another school, it depends on the principal of that school. Supposing your child did very well in his/her exams or else have achieved a medal in some sports, then you can write in to the school to ask if you have any chance of getting in.
I missed the chance of doing that when my boy did well for his P2 results…it didn’t occur to me that it was a good opportunity to ask for a transfer to either SJI or ACS (impt thing is a school with an affiliated sec) -

This works better in your favour if the achievement is one of your targeted school's niches. -
Hi all,
You can really get all the information on P1 registration from this website.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/faqs/#registration-procedures
I thought of cutting and paste all the FAQ and post it here but's its really too long.
Spend some time to read through it. I think it can answer most of your questions.
But for experiences and ideas.. forum is still the best.
By the way, for parents going for phase 2B, you should already received the approval letter from your approved organisation/committes etc.
Good luck![/url] -

Hi Mommies n Daddies
Just to share that I've got the booklet from my child's CC. You can also view the softcopy in MOE's website: http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/primary/ [On the right, look for Primary School Education Booklet]
