Ya. I think condo mgt MUST be resolute enuf to execute social distancing measures. The residence committee/mgt committee (MGST) must put in measures to ensure these are communicated in HDB & Condo environment. Afterall, if those elected to serve their community do not take action, the young, the ‘outsiders’ as in expat community & their helpers will not think for the bigger community interests.

COVID-19: Delivery and takeaway models unsustainable, say restaurant owners

Hi everyone! I’m writing down a bunch of FB groups, voluntary organisations and Giving.sg campaigns that I’ve been donating to if you would like any way to help in this current Covid-19 situation or know anyone who wants any help (yourself included). Never posted anything like this before but I think right now anything helps for people affected by this ❤️

These are small-ish ground-up communities so help seems to get sent out quickly and directly. Unfortunately they’re also less well known about, so take a look and spread the word if you can.

𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 + 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩:

PARK $2 Project (P2P) - Really inspiring group of people offering to help and asking for help (some on behalf of others) in many ways - groceries, donating to healthcare workers etc. Great general resource for people who might need anything at all without jumping through a bunch of administrative hoops.

Support Singapore Through Covid-19 - SSTC - they are donating laptops to students without internet or laptop access at home for Home-Based Learning. These students might not be able to qualify for assistance or might need additional help; please consider if you have an old laptop lying around. If you know anyone who needs help, please contact them too!

Happy People Helping People Community - they have an amazing initiative where you can buy hawker meals through their online system for beneficiaries to redeem whenever they like (http://www.secondmeal.io) side note: their website UI is quite impressive.

Itsrainingraincoats - They connect with migrant workers and currently have an initiative for volunteers to teach them English during this period. You can also donate to the workers especially since many of their jobs are affected by the shutdown.

Project Love Lunch 仁爱之盒 - They are directly in touch with families and elderly in need, and organise groceries, bento boxes, NTUC vouchers and other essentials for them. They were recently short of some essentials and any donations are always welcome!

Hawkers FNB Food Delivery /Pick Up - They are a pretty large group of hawkers who advertise their food for delivery on this group. Hawkers are another huge group that is going to be affected, especially those who are not near residential areas. Please consider supporting those who post on the group by buying their food if you can!

SideWalk Talk SG - They are a small group of people supporting emotional wellness by offering a listening ear and community. They hold open Zoom calls and you can always message them if you need someone to talk to! Supporting emotional wellness especially during this lockdown period is crucial ❤️

            𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬

𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 - One of the community workers at this Family Service Centre runs Support Singapore Through Covid-19 - SSTC and GoodWill@SCC. They work with 500 low-income and vulnerable families so your help will go a long way. https://sccfsc.sg/

𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐧.𝐨𝐫𝐠.𝐬𝐠 - Donate items requested by beneficiaries eg household appliances/medical supplies/specific groceries. It’s an amazing, really direct link between donors and people in urgent need. If you need anything or can spare anything, please consider them! All the posts are made by social service workers in touch with beneficiaries. https://www.passiton.org.sg/

𝐬𝐠𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐨.𝐨𝐫𝐠 - IT professionals donating laptops for lower income students too, and they already ran out of their original stock of laptops - if you have extra laptops do contact them! They also do free IT repair and help people with grant applications. http://sgbono.org/

𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠.𝐬𝐠 - These are just some campaigns that I myself found extra meaningful and donated to, because they seem smaller and less well resourced. I don’t have a lot but anyone can donate what they can, even $5 or $10 is appreciated for sure. https://www.giving.sg/

            1. 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 is a children’s shelter and relies heavily on donations. However, their donations have dropped sharply with Covid-19, so any donations would be welcome. https://www.giving.sg/boys-town/boys_town_covid19

            2. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 runs shelters and homes for vulnerable women and children. They are having a hard time with Covid-19 as well and do not have many donations on the Giving.sg site now, so any donations are welcome! https://www.giving.sg/campaigns/rice_and_other_needs

            3. 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 is delivering takeaway meals for people in need of support during Covid-19, supporting local F&B along the way as well. They are pretty well-resourced but I donated because they have a wide network of immediate beneficiaries that can be helped with the donations. https://www.giving.sg/%E2%80%A6/covid-19_relief_feed_the_city_take-…

            4. 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, similar to Food Bank, is directly connected to many beneficiaries and is disbursing donations to them, especially daily-rated workers affected by Covid-19. They do not have much donations on Giving.sg currently, so please consider supporting them! https://www.giving.sg/beyond-social-%E2%80%A6/covid-19_response_fund

            5. 𝐊𝐊𝐇 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 - Lastly, while reading through Giving.sg campaigns, I saw this fund for needy patients who have exhausted all their financial options. It’s a topic that is close to my heart and I imagine cancer patients, now more than ever, would also require our assistance. Please donate in any way if you can spare it! https://www.giving.sg/kkh-health-fund/cancer_subfund

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞.

Top-up migrant workers' prepaid SIM cards

                      https://www.giving.sg/twc2/topup

This campaign was started amidst the Covid-19 situation. Migrant worker dormitories have been hit hard and thousands of workers have been forced to stay in their dormitories.

Imagine the stress and anxiety from confinement in close quarters. And the worry from there not being work and no assurance of income.

The workers' mobile phones are their lifelines to the outside world, be it to call for help and speak about their problems, or to keep in touch with worried family back home.

Some dormitories do not have wifi and therefore, for those who face a lockdown, data for their smartphones becomes critically important.
