The concern is, those not working, will have too much time on hand, will start socialising since they have received some form of compensation from the budget. No pain, hence no worry. ๐Ÿ˜“
I hope there are laws that can be invoked to deter people from holding mini BBQ parties at their condo. I saw on Facebook, this particular shop selling raw satay, BBQ chicken wings will stay open and also provide deliveries during this circuit-breaker period ๐Ÿคท

Now that Singaporeans have nowhere to go, will all head to supermarkets to kill time?
The NTUC at TPY was very crowded this morning and I saw at least 20 customers (mostly students) crowding around Bubble Tea shop!!

I walked pass ็พŽ็้ฆ™, staff still roasting Bak kwa, ๐Ÿคท I am very worried whether our Circuit Breaker will work out as well as hoped.

We are taking things too lightly and need constant reminders to stay home to minimise movements and mingling.

recently ,my dh has been on later work arrangment & this morn as he did his daily run , he saw exceptional more number of youngster and seniors \"socialising\" in the park today , walking pets n talking etc .... I really hope these people be more responsible n keep safe distance away fr each other... younger couples exercise \"park tor\" in parks since tertiary is having sch holidays etc?
I do not wish to see continue climb in case numbers & extreme measures by G or police or army need to patrol out to control irresponsible people movements... we should learn lesson fr ang mo countries , not obedient enough and community spread becomes wild fire

older aunties use market & supermarket as \"gather\" places - they go marketing together :slapshead:

No outsiders into dorm compound. Theyโ€™re watched very closely with police stationed to contro situation. Donโ€™t hv to worry if they can snuggle maid girlfrds. Donโ€™t hv to project our imaginations too far. Just go by factual efforts alr announced when Ministers Iswaran, Zarqy et al conducted visit to these dormitories.

There are new regulations to increase social distancing & workers canโ€™t even visit each other btwn blocks or levels. The only thing they need to do now is spread them out so only one worker in an demarcated or shielded (even if by only a heavy plastic curtain) and Iโ€™m hoping barracks or Expo will meet the space required to spread them out.

of course, we are not talking about \"snuggle maid girlfrds\" into the dorm, under the watchful eyes of police around

            ==========================

            But, come every weekend Sunday

are these 20,000 FWs allowed to get out of their dorm

            - run own errand like,

buy ingredients to cook their own food inside the dorm, because is cheaper to self-cook
            or
remit $ overseas back home for their family members, to put food on their table to eat,
            or

            - meet their girl friend for a while eg. maids ?

surely these 20,000 FWs are not imprisoned inside their dorm even on Sunday, until to the extent that they
cannot even go out to buy ingredients to cook food at home or cannot go out to packet food to eat or have their own free personal space time ? These are basic necessities of life

If Yes, then there is a loop-hole already, for maids to meet them, who in turn, can pass virus back to their employer household

What is the maids' off-day, once a week, their freedom day to do their own things ?
            Sunday, right ?

normally see a lot of maids gathered at Lucky Plaza + other places, on Sunday

The authorities had put them on 14 LOA & food will be packed & delivered to dorms. Theyโ€™ll hv security & on-site Medical assistance. Todayโ€™s news indicated the 14 days may be extended further. Only those who are not infected & are in essential services will be separated & alr moved fr the cluttered dormitories. Those foreign workers in non-essential industries will continue to be paid with govt putting up $100 for each worker to their eyers.[/quote]Unless they test every worker, how to make sure they are not infected. The limited space and sharing of toilets really very easy to get infected...

Condo may not hv ready by-laws passed to stop ppl fr having BBQs but condo mgt shld be able to extend national call for social distancing. Itโ€™s unconscionable tt ppl still want to do BBQ at condos. In fact, they shld stagger use of gym (2 pax at any one-hour timeframe) or complete close use of gym, etc.

More servalliance stepped up in public space. Saw police walking thro MRT to adv ppl to exercise social distancing, mkts, town Centres, etc. Iโ€™m glad the national call for Circuit Breaker is followed thro with implementation of public checks.

The real tests will be next few days & if ppl still milling ard, then itโ€™ll take us longer to learn co-operation with CB orders. Once cases increases, we might hv to lock down completely with more repercussions & many Sโ€™poreans will then point fingers back at govt for loss of jobs, bz & livelihoods but it is our own willful in-cooperative actions (no matter how few of us) that is at fault.

Ya. I think condo mgt MUST be resolute enuf to execute social distancing measures. The residence committee/mgt committee (MGST) must put in measures to ensure these are communicated in HDB & Condo environment. Afterall, if those elected to serve their community do not take action, the young, the โ€˜outsidersโ€™ as in expat community & their helpers will not think for the bigger community interests.

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m writing down a bunch of FB groups, voluntary organisations and Giving.sg campaigns that Iโ€™ve been donating to if you would like any way to help in this current Covid-19 situation or know anyone who wants any help (yourself included). Never posted anything like this before but I think right now anything helps for people affected by this โค๏ธ

These are small-ish ground-up communities so help seems to get sent out quickly and directly. Unfortunately theyโ€™re also less well known about, so take a look and spread the word if you can.

PARK $2 Project (P2P) - Really inspiring group of people offering to help and asking for help (some on behalf of others) in many ways - groceries, donating to healthcare workers etc. Great general resource for people who might need anything at all without jumping through a bunch of administrative hoops.

Support Singapore Through Covid-19 - SSTC - they are donating laptops to students without internet or laptop access at home for Home-Based Learning. These students might not be able to qualify for assistance or might need additional help; please consider if you have an old laptop lying around. If you know anyone who needs help, please contact them too!

Happy People Helping People Community - they have an amazing initiative where you can buy hawker meals through their online system for beneficiaries to redeem whenever they like (http://www.secondmeal.io) side note: their website UI is quite impressive.

Itsrainingraincoats - They connect with migrant workers and currently have an initiative for volunteers to teach them English during this period. You can also donate to the workers especially since many of their jobs are affected by the shutdown.

Project Love Lunch ไป็ˆฑไน‹็›’ - They are directly in touch with families and elderly in need, and organise groceries, bento boxes, NTUC vouchers and other essentials for them. They were recently short of some essentials and any donations are always welcome!

Hawkers FNB Food Delivery /Pick Up - They are a pretty large group of hawkers who advertise their food for delivery on this group. Hawkers are another huge group that is going to be affected, especially those who are not near residential areas. Please consider supporting those who post on the group by buying their food if you can!

SideWalk Talk SG - They are a small group of people supporting emotional wellness by offering a listening ear and community. They hold open Zoom calls and you can always message them if you need someone to talk to! Supporting emotional wellness especially during this lockdown period is crucial โค๏ธ

๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ž - One of the community workers at this Family Service Centre runs Support Singapore Through Covid-19 - SSTC and GoodWill@SCC. They work with 500 low-income and vulnerable families so your help will go a long way. https://sccfsc.sg/

๐ฉ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ง.๐จ๐ซ๐ .๐ฌ๐  - Donate items requested by beneficiaries eg household appliances/medical supplies/specific groceries. Itโ€™s an amazing, really direct link between donors and people in urgent need. If you need anything or can spare anything, please consider them! All the posts are made by social service workers in touch with beneficiaries. https://www.passiton.org.sg/

๐ฌ๐ ๐›๐จ๐ง๐จ.๐จ๐ซ๐  - IT professionals donating laptops for lower income students too, and they already ran out of their original stock of laptops - if you have extra laptops do contact them! They also do free IT repair and help people with grant applications. http://sgbono.org/

๐†๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ .๐ฌ๐  - These are just some campaigns that I myself found extra meaningful and donated to, because they seem smaller and less well resourced. I donโ€™t have a lot but anyone can donate what they can, even $5 or $10 is appreciated for sure. https://www.giving.sg/

                        1. ๐๐จ๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐“๐จ๐ฐ๐ง is a childrenโ€™s shelter and relies heavily on donations. However, their donations have dropped sharply with Covid-19, so any donations would be welcome. https://www.giving.sg/boys-town/boys_town_covid19

                        2. ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ ๐‚๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ž runs shelters and homes for vulnerable women and children. They are having a hard time with Covid-19 as well and do not have many donations on the Giving.sg site now, so any donations are welcome! https://www.giving.sg/campaigns/rice_and_other_needs

                        3. ๐…๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐š๐ง๐ค is delivering takeaway meals for people in need of support during Covid-19, supporting local F&B along the way as well. They are pretty well-resourced but I donated because they have a wide network of immediate beneficiaries that can be helped with the donations. https://www.giving.sg/%E2%80%A6/covid-19_relief_feed_the_city_take-โ€ฆ

                        4. ๐๐ž๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ, similar to Food Bank, is directly connected to many beneficiaries and is disbursing donations to them, especially daily-rated workers affected by Covid-19. They do not have much donations on Giving.sg currently, so please consider supporting them! https://www.giving.sg/beyond-social-%E2%80%A6/covid-19_response_fund

                        5. ๐Š๐Š๐‡ ๐‚๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ ๐’๐ฎ๐›-๐…๐ฎ๐ง๐ - Lastly, while reading through Giving.sg campaigns, I saw this fund for needy patients who have exhausted all their financial options. Itโ€™s a topic that is close to my heart and I imagine cancer patients, now more than ever, would also require our assistance. Please donate in any way if you can spare it! https://www.giving.sg/kkh-health-fund/cancer_subfund
