Can you donate to me, pls?

Sure. Can pm me your address?

I am not sure if the mask collected from Govt can still be donated due to hygiene concerns.
Maybe our Govt can advise on that, whether they allow masks in original packing to be donated to the FWs.

Heard that during the earlier round of masks distribution, around 50% of the masks went uncollected. Assume the same this time round, CCS should pass all uncollected masks to these FWs.[/quote]Noted. We have never used the reusable masks given by govt. They are still in their original packaging. We didn’t even open them. We collected them just because our condo management arranged to get the masks distributed in the clubhouse. If we have to collect the masks in CC, we will forgo the masks because we are using surgical masks. I thought just collect them to give to somebody who wants. Anyway, if they cannot be donated then so be it.

May not be enough. More dorm clusters.

Am asking who will bear the responsibility of undesirable living conditions of dorms. This has resulted the spread of virus and who pays for all the related medical, security, transport expenses of the FWs?

The “Floating hotel” looks like a cruise ship. Hope the task force has checked the sewage, air circulation etc. DH said later we end up like Diamond Princess Cruise Ship. All we need is just one asymptomatic case among them on board and the whole ship will be infected.

As for housing those at HDB construction sites, pls ensure these FWs are safe from DENGUE mosquitoes.

National Stadium is out? How about the Old Police Academy along Thomson Road? The barracks and sheltered canteen still there? How about Pearl Bank Condo? There are many such Enbloc condos not demolished yet, can talk to the developers.
Suntec Convention Centre or the to-be completed Thomson East Coast line MRT stations?

When I put on a mask, I am like breathless. When I remove the mask, the area of my face earlier covered by the mask is moist with sweat. Is this normal?
Should not be. I wear it for about 12 hours daily and am fine. A bit more difficult to breathe initially when wearing 3 ply relative to 2 ply, have gotten used to it now.

Alternatively, change to another brand or different source country. I have masks from different brands and countries. Some are actually quite rough so it feels scratchy.

Maybe too tight. The adult mask is too big for me. I tried tieing a knot on both sides. Can’t breathe. Ok if I only tie one side.

Sweep floor uncle told me he got the “no brand” 2ply cloth mask. He wore it for 20mins and was left breathless. And he said the whole mask was soaked with his perspiration and the whole thing stick on to his face, like how we felt after a sweaty PE lesson.

I went home and took 15 surgical masks to put in ziplock bag and pass over to him.

OT: The discounted hotel rates are really quite low. $80 for twin-sharing for some budget hotels. $50 x 2 workers = $100 subsidy to stay in a $80 budget inn? There's still change to be pocketed. Most SME towkays live in GCB; surely they can afford another 14 days without asking the govt to bail them out? The govt didn't ask them to hire Msians. The govt appeals to them to tap on e2i to hire Singaporean mid-career switchers.
The above TOC article also mentioned TWC2, another NGO that champions MW and FDW causes. On 3 April, TWC2 had already alerted the govt and given their suggestions, after posting an ST FORUM letter on 23 Mar:

\"Where could we move a few thousand workers to with only a few hours notice? If you put your mind to it, it isn’t that hard. It’s been done before, though maybe not in Singapore. In other countries when earthquakes strike with no warning, people are moved into “tent cities”. So, in the same vein, here are some possibilities:

                        1. Using canvas screens to create separation and private spaces, convert the massive, virtually empty multi-storey carparks at Changi Airport into a sort of “tent city”.

                        2. Or use the massive floor space of Changi Expo in the same way.

                        3. Empty out army barracks to house the workers. Our national servicemen all have homes to go back to, so they won’t be much inconvenienced.

To be successfully carried out, each of these options requires prior planning and preparation. In the case of (1) and (2), cots and canvas screens have to be found, and portaloos and showers have to be put in place. Catering will need to be arranged — but hey, there should be an underutilised flight kitchen nearby. As for option (3) beds and bathroom facilities will already be in place but there will be security concerns and these need to be thought through and dealt with.\"

I guess the govt has run out of ideas, but to use these suggested by the NGO. 😉
