Jennifer, unfortunately not so. I remember my son got average score of 93% and could only get into GR2. hope i am not scaring any parents who are planning to send their kids to PH.
I think a safer bet is to score agg. of at least 90%. -
dyh:
That means the present P3 cohort is very strong.

90% is quite unlikely to get into CH 2. The percentage diff for each pupil in CH2 is miniscule. In dyh's son's case, 93% is indeed high so he must be one of the tops in GR2. Strong indeed. -
E3:
Even not so at P2, with class size increased to 40 and higher difficulty to score :!: . Last year, the CH2 FT told the class that they have to score above 95% to stay in that class.Jennifer:

If the child is in Charity 1/2, his/her results would be in the high end of 90...around 97. The difference in results between the kids are like 0.1%
dyh,
My boy is an average kid...wouldn't dare hope for him to go to anyway higher than Kindness. As long as he can maintain, we are more than happy.
Hubby did PV for sportsfest yesterday...met his colleague & his wife. His colleague's daughter is in P6. She told him to expect a big drop in results at P5. I had expected this last year at P3 and it's so true. :?: -
E3:
not really...he was not even in the top 10 in GR2.

That's true, I would rather my son be in a class where his standard is comparable to his peers than be in CH where i think he will be among the last which can be demoralising to him? so the class itself is not so important. If the child is in Charity 1/2, his/her results would be in the high end of 90...around 97. i heard that the P5 SA1 math is so tough that 1/3 of the cohort failed! -

About the class allocation, I just like to say that my P3 boy is not heng this year, both teachers not doing their job properly. Does other parents whose child is not among the top 3 classes have the same situation? That's true, I would rather my son be in a class where his standard is comparable to his peers than be in CH where i think he will be among the last which can be demoralising to him? so the class itself is not so important.

About P5 MA, my elder boy saw a big dip in his CA1, too yayapapaya. Luckily by SA he pulled up. Once the child undergoes the rigorious P5, P6 is not so hard. In fact, P6 was a lax year until near PSLE period when the class just complete exam papers after exam papers. -
dyh:
When I heard there were failures in the good classes, I was rather shocked, didn't know was that bad.
